Custom-crafted brown diamond portrait showcases innovation in diamond design, technology and precision manufacturing.
ISGJ Jewellery College and diamond technology company Lexus SoftMac have jointly created a 10.07-carat premium brown diamond sculpture replicating the side profile of Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi. The custom-crafted diamond was developed as a tribute to Sanghavi’s contribution to Gujarat’s development and his support for the diamond industry.
The project combined advanced design technology, precision planning and specialized diamond manufacturing. ISGJ Jewellery College handled the conceptualization, source-image analysis, facial mapping and 3D planning, while Lexus SoftMac carried out the cutting, polishing and execution of the diamond sculpture.
Developed over nearly four months, the project aimed to transform a diamond into a recognizable facial replica while maintaining diamond yield, visual appeal and optical performance. The finished sculpture presents a detailed side-profile likeness of Harsh Sanghavi, with the natural brown color of the diamond enhancing the depth and definition of its sculpted features.
According to the creators, the project involved extensive source-image mapping, profile analysis, digital modelling and photorealistic simulations to accurately capture facial characteristics while remaining aligned with the natural properties of the diamond.
The initiative also highlights the growing role of technology and innovation in the jewellery and diamond sector, demonstrating how digital planning and precision manufacturing can be used to create highly customized diamond artworks.
Lexus SoftMac noted that converting a design concept and 3D model into a finished diamond portrait required advanced planning, specialized cutting techniques and meticulous execution. The company described the process as one of the most complex applications of diamond manufacturing technology.
The 10.07-carat premium brown diamond sculpture is among the rare examples of a custom-crafted facial replica created entirely in diamond. The creators said the project reflects the fusion of portrait artistry, advanced technology and precision diamond manufacturing while showcasing Surat’s capabilities in the global diamond industry.
The diamond portrait has been positioned as a unique example of how concepts, photographs and digital models can be transformed into customized diamond sculptures suitable for presentation, exhibition and collection purposes.
