Rotpunkt has shared its key 2027 interior design trends. The German furniture manufacturer sees a stronger focus on comfort, function and visual balance.

Homeowners are creating more connected spaces. Kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms now follow a common design style.

Matt Phillips, Head of UK Operations at Rotpunkt, says homeowners want spaces that feel personal and practical. They also want a smooth flow between rooms.

Curated Living Experiences

Warm and tactile interiors will remain important in 2027. Natural colours will bring a softer feel to the home.

Oak and walnut finishes will add warmth. Warm metals will also feature in furniture and interiors.

Textured surfaces will create more visual interest. Nature-inspired colours will help build a calm interior. Storage will also become more practical. Floor-to-ceiling fronts can make better use of wall space.

Pull-out storage can improve access. Lift-up systems can also make everyday use easier. Rotating cabinets will support better movement. Curved furniture can create a smoother flow between areas.

Sense of Unity

Connected interiors will be another major trend in 2027. Homeowners are using similar colours and materials across different rooms.

Rotpunkt highlights a door-to-floor design approach. This approach creates a consistent look throughout the home. Modular furniture can support this style. It can also help connect different areas of the house.

Vertical grooves will feature in kitchens, living rooms and bathrooms. Display storage will also become more popular.

Book-matched surfaces will add a strong visual effect. These surfaces can highlight wood grains and stone patterns. Kitchens, wardrobes and furniture can also share the same finish. Contrasting finishes can create another design option.

Visual Balance

Soft shapes will gain more attention in 2027. Curved handleless furniture will be one of the key features.

Rounded kitchen islands will also add softer forms. Floating wall units can create a lighter visual effect. Natural materials will remain important. Climate-friendly wood finishes will support this trend.

Natural stone and warm metals will add texture. Earthy colours will also play a major role. Soft brown, warm grey and caramel will be key shades. These colours can create a warm look across the home.

Focus on Functional Interiors

Rotpunkt says homeowners no longer need to choose between style and function. Modern furniture can offer both. The company expects this approach to shape kitchens, living rooms, bathrooms and bedrooms in 2027.

Rotpunkt’s 2027 innovations will be available from 1 January 2027. Prices start at £6,500 plus VAT for furniture only.
