Innovations in fiber and solutions are being hosted in Lenzing’s showroom, which also features a variety of newly created products made using its Tencel, Modal, and EcoVero fibers.

Regarding raw materials, the producer is showcasing a novel foam created in collaboration with Serbian company Neveon. Lenzing created a technique for pulverizing its lyocell so that it could be used with the foam mixture used in Neveon.

Heat is a common concern regarding foam, according to Walter Bridgham, senior business development manager for the home division at Lenzing.

He clarified, “This absorbs the heat and humidity and then disperses it through evaporation.”

A mixed down and tencel fill is also required. Bridgham remarked, “This is going to make pillows much cooler.”

This week, the Fiber Innovation Center, which acts as a gathering place for businesses whose goods combine to offer unique benefits for customers, is in the center of Lenzing’s showroom. Among the participants are Unifi, the manufacturer of Repreve, Ciclo Technology, ProTecht, Naia from Eastman, and 37.5 Technology.

Lenzing is also showcasing a broad range of recently launched bath and bedroom items made from its fibers. The manufacturers, who source product samples from China, India, Japan, Pakistan, Portugal, and Turkey, are a reflection of the global aspect of the home textile industry.

Several of the introductions consist of:

  • A thick, Japanese braided throw blanket that helps prevent bacteria, mold, and mildew by containing kapok and silver.
  • Trident (India) offers a range of sheet grades that combine Tencel and Ciclo Technology.
  • A bed set made entirely of Tencel by Liberty Mills (Pakistan)
  • Sheets of 100% Tencel yarn-dyed using a cutting-edge finishing method from Lameirinho, Portugal
  • Turkish Tencel EcoVero cross-woven into cotton sheets
  • A filled blanket made from a Tencel sheet filled with Loulai (China) silk
  • Digitally printed beach towels from Sanko that are not sheered (Turkey)
  • 700 GSM bath towels from Nesa (Turkey) made of cotton, linen, and Tencel Modal
  • Made in Australia by Suedwool Group, mattress ticking is knitted by Culp using wool and Tencel yarns (U.S.)

Additionally, there are areas of the showcase dedicated to Lenzing fiber programs that are already available at retail (Target, Macy’s, The Company Store, Pottery Barn, and West Elm) and hospitality (sheeting, towels, robes, and utility bedding).

The address of Lenzing’s showroom is Suite 808 at 530 7th Ave. (at 39th St.).
