The company creates the first pineapple fiber collection in the industry and introduces new softeners based on coconut oil.
Introducing a first for the industry, 1888 Mills is bringing an innovative line of linens and towels to the New York Home Fashions Market.
According to the firm, 1888 Mills’ Terrain is the first textile collection made entirely of plants to be released. The collection, which includes top-of-bed items, sheets, and towels made from premium cotton and bamboo mixes, debuts what is billed as the first towel in history made of a blend of cotton and pineapple fibers in 1888.
The company worked with Re-Root Tex in Bangladesh to develop the first pineapple fiber, which comes from the stems and leaves of pineapple plants. These are byproducts of the pineapple farming business that are usually thrown away, but this innovation is giving them a new use.
ProTecht Fresh, a bio-based anti-odor technology made from castor seeds, is included in the collection. Castor seeds are quickly renewable and aid in restoring product quality and natural freshness for up to 40 home launderings.
To further improve the plushness and pleasure of the textiles, Terrain also contains the biodegradable Bio-Pure softener. Coconut, a renewable resource that gives towels a natural touch and an extra-soft touch that lasts through thirty home launderings, powers BioPure’s plant-based softening technology. Furthermore, BioPure has no harsh ingredients, making it gentle for even the most sensitive skin.
“1888 Mills is taking plant-based, regenerative fiber utilization to new heights by using by-products from various plant and farming industries,” said Lexi Schladenhauffen, chief experience officer of 1888 Mills, a company that makes home and commercial textile products for the global retail, hospitality, and institutional markets. Modern facilities are run by the corporation in Bangladesh and Pakistan.
“Terrain’s collection features warm tones and hints of green, inspired by the natural beauty of plant life, making it perfectly suited for today’s discerning customer,” the speaker went on.
The 550 GSM towels from 1888 Mills come in two cotton-rich compositions: 75% cotton and 25% pineapple fiber that has been regenerated via Re-Rootex, and 70% cotton and 30% bamboo.
Sets of 100% viscose bamboo bedding are offered.
The address of 1888 Mills’ New York showroom is 230 Fifth Ave., Suite 610.
