Chesapeake, Virginia: One of the three leadership changes made by Dollar Tree Inc. may have a significant impact on the future of the Family Dollar franchise.
Jason Nordin was named president of Family Dollar Stores by the corporation, and his primary responsibility is to head the evaluation of strategic options for the 7,761-store chain, which was revealed in early June. The business, which has already shut down hundreds of stores this year, could be sold or spun off.
In October 2023, Nordin became the company’s chief of stores. Before that, he oversaw 23,000 employees at Pilot Company’s 650+ travel centers and quick-serve restaurants in the United States and Canada as its chief operating officer. He had executive roles at Abbott Laboratories, Tyco International, and Whirlpool before to joining Pilot.
Mike Creedon, who was appointed interim CEO of Dollar Tree Inc. earlier this month, stated that Jason has continuously shown that he is a successful and progressive leader. “Jason’s financial savvy, business nimbleness, and operational experience will be crucial in steering Family Dollar’s next phase.”
Furthermore, Jocelyn “Jocy” Konrad has been named chief of enterprise store operations and Dollar Tree locations, overseeing all enterprise store operations services and Dollar Tree locations. The multi-price expansion will be implemented at Dollar Tree stores under the direction of Konrad, who joined the company last October.
“Jocy has unlocked significant value for the Family Dollar business in just over a year, fulfilling financial commitments, enhancing the brand, and surpassing operational expectations for the banner,” Creedon added.
Steve Schumacher was immediately elevated to the position of EVP and chief people officer by the corporation. Schumacher will continue to oversee all human resources (HR) operations for the Dollar Tree and Family Dollar brands. Schumacher has been acting as temporary chief people officer for the last six months.
