DULUTH, Georgia— In January of this year, Napa Home & Garden will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a year-long celebration that honors its most devoted and long-standing patrons and highlights its significant milestones. At January markets, the business will launch more than 475 new products, including a new partnership with lifestyle designer Barclay Butera, to start the festivities. In Atlanta, a showroom party and a live Q&A session with Chairman and Founder KC Cunningham are part of a special celebration this January.
Napa Home & Garden was established in Napa, California, by KC and Jerry Cunningham, who were inspired by KC’s passion for gardening and her taste for sophisticated living. With a focus on outdoor décor, they initially built shops in Atlanta, Dallas, New York, and High Point regions in 2000. Their introduction of fiberclay planters in 2004 cemented Napa’s place in the outside area.
Motivated by KC’s love of interior design, they added masterful Italian ceramics and Burmese rattan woven products to their lineup. The business claims that shortly after, it was the first wholesaler to provide actual preserved boxwoods for sale. The business entered the lighting and pendant market in 2009, and the team introduced its recognizable floral drop-ins in 2015. Employees at Napa Home & Garden claim that the business was the first to offer handcrafted ferns and orchids, many of which are now best sellers at every market. Since Wakefield Handmade’s 2014 launch of Italian tableware and garden pots, Napa Home & Garden has grown into a powerful home décor brand.
According to KC Cunningham, “industry norms never motivated me.” Regardless of current trends, Jerry would always advise me to purchase what appealed to me. This was essential to our development throughout those early years.
To provide their clients with a high-end look at a reasonable cost, the Cunninghams traversed the world. They attribute the success of their constantly growing product line to their solid alliances with numerous gifted designers, retailers, and distributors, whom they have always regarded as close friends.
Significant Goals for 2025
In addition to a wide range of new products, Napa is celebrating this milestone anniversary with its first-ever tabletop partnership with renowned lifestyle designer Barclay Butera. Alluna, a collection of 16 cordless LED lights in a variety of designer hues with unique empire shades made of metal and linen and a circular charging station base, is also making its premiere. The brand is also launching unique accent furniture pieces made of mango wood, large-scale, cutting-edge LED solar lights in both modern and classic designs, and new European flax fiber woven cushions in a variety of floral and striped patterns and hues.
“It has been such a rewarding endeavor to build on Napa’s rich history and adjust to the changing needs of our astute clientele,” stated Michelle Gee, president of Napa. “We look forward to everything that lies ahead, as we have a lot more in the works to complete our constantly expanding portfolio.”
Through social media and its website, Napa will honor some of its longtime patrons with tributes and Napa-specific memories throughout 2025.
Longtime Napa customers Dan Bellman and Randy Korando of Boxwoods Gardens and Gifts in Atlanta noted, “Napa Home and Garden has become a major resource for us.” “Napa’s distinctive designs and carefully chosen product line, along with its competitive price, have been a win-win for Boxwoods since their opening in 2000. We’re excited to collaborate with them for many years to come.
“What I’ve learned over the past 25 years is that life has a long runway and you can achieve more than you might have imagined in your 50s,” says KC Cunningham in closing. Having known and collaborated with so many outstanding individuals worldwide, many of whom remain suppliers after more than two decades, has made my life richer. Their goods are as useful now as they were back then.
