Corte Madera, California — Just north of Santa Barbara, top 100 retailer RH launched its newest display, RH Montecito, The Gallery at The Old Firehouse.
The RH Firehouse Grill, an indoor-outdoor Courtyard Restaurant with fires and fountains, a Wine & Barista Bar, and an Interior Design Atelier are all aspects of this reimagined Historic Fire House at 1486 East Valley Road.
The Corte Madera, California-based company is opening its second Golden State location in less than a week.
The award-winning architect Alexander Bertrand Harmer created the historic structure, which was first built in 1931 in the center of Montecito and functioned as the local firehouse for more than 50 years. Reimagined as a destination that celebrates cuisine and design, the distinctive building embodies the brand’s mission to create authentic experiences and inspiring settings that honor and elevate the local culture.
Gary Friedman, the chairman and CEO of RH, stated, “We have long admired this iconic building and its rich history.” “By skillfully fusing aspirational exterior and interior installations with an integrated hospitality concept unlike anything that exists in retail, we are reestablishing the architecture’s relevance with great respect for the original architecture.”
The vast Great Room, which is flooded with natural light and air, has a 14-foot ceiling, reclaimed wood beams, and artistic installations of RH Collections mixed with rare art, antiques, and relics from all over the world.
Glass and steel doors lead to a French sandstone courtyard with a sequence of silver date palm trees around the perimeter, Japanese boxwood hedges, and pathways of decomposed granite. Visitors can examine personal RH Outdoor expressions here. RH Interior Design, which occupies the upper floor, provides clients with expert design services together with a private presentation space equipped with cutting-edge technology.
