The 16th edition of HGH India, a prominent bi-annual trade show for home textiles, home décor, home furniture, houseware, and gifts, was successfully held from December 3 to 6, 2024, at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC). This inaugural event in Bengaluru marked a significant exploration of South India as an emerging market for home products. The event attracted over 20,000 serious trade visitors from 500 cities across the country, including 74 international buyers from 29 countries, demonstrating the growing interest in this sector.

Over 90% of exhibitors reported high visitor traffic, predominantly from serious trade buyers in South Indian states like Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. Many attendees were first-time visitors to HGH India, drawn by the convenience of Bengaluru as a trade show location. A survey conducted by the HGH India team revealed that visitors from tier II and tier III cities expressed fascination with the wide array of innovative products available for sourcing within just four days. Additionally, nearly 49% of visitors came from outside South India, further establishing Bengaluru as a burgeoning business hub for home products nationwide.

The showcased products emphasised innovation in design and sustainability, resonating well with retailers and professional buyers.
Growth Projections for Home Products

Retailers were particularly optimistic following the Diwali season and in anticipation of upcoming festive occasions like Onam and Pongal.
