ITMA 2027: Hanover Sets the Stage for the World’s Largest Textile Showcase
The city of Hanover is eagerly gearing up to welcome participants of the world’s largest textile and garment technology exhibition — ITMA 2027. Scheduled from 16 to 22 September 2027 at Messegelände Hannover, the exhibition is expected to span 200,000 square meters, occupying 13 exhibition halls. Held once every four years since 1951, ITMA was last hosted in Hanover in 1991. The successful bid for ITMA 2027 was submitted by the venue owner, Deutsche Messe, in close collaboration with the City of Hanover and the office of the Lord Mayor.

Its blend of history and modernity makes it a hidden gem for those seeking a well-balanced urban experience.”
Diverse Accommodation Options for ITMA 2027 Participants
As a seasoned host for major trade events, Hanover offers an ample and diverse range of accommodation options, including hotels, guesthouses, inns, and private apartments, catering to varying needs and budgets. Currently, the city offers over 18,000 hotel beds, ranging from budget-friendly to premium options. The surrounding districts and metropolitan region provide an additional 54,000 beds, while approximately 4,000 private accommodations are also available across Hanover and nearby areas.
Dr Jochen Koeckler, Chairman of Deutsche Messe’s Board, explained: “The majority of accommodations are within a 30 to 90-minute commute to the fairground. Additionally, we offer a campground opposite the exhibition venue for participants who wish to bring motorhomes and caravans. Participants can also expect even more choices, with another 700 rooms becoming available in the city centre next year.”
Official Accommodation Partner Appointed
To assist participants further, ITMA Services has appointed accommodation specialist bnetwork to provide hotel and vacation apartment booking services. With nearly two decades of experience and a track record of handling past ITMA exhibitions in Barcelona, bnetwork is well-versed in the specific needs of ITMA exhibitors and visitors. Hanover’s Accessibility and Infrastructure
Though not Germany’s primary global gateway, Hanover is exceptionally well-connected within Europe and internationally, thanks to direct high-speed train links and a well-served airport. The city offers convenient public transport connections to the Messegelände fairground, including two modern light rail stations linking directly to the city centre. Additionally, Hanover provides direct motorway access and around 39,000 car parking spaces at the venue, ensuring seamless travel for visitors arriving by road.

Looking Ahead to ITMA 2027
More detailed exhibition information will be available on the ITMA 2027 website, scheduled to launch in July 2025, ahead of the opening of stand space applications in September 2025. The last ITMA exhibition, held in Milan in 2023, grossed 200,000 square meters and featured 1,709 exhibitors from 47 countries, drawing over 111,000 visitors from 143 countries.
