Trident Group Explores Expansion in Paraguay During Presidential Visit

In a significant move toward global industrial collaboration, Trident Group, one of India’s leading textile and paper manufacturing conglomerates, hosted a high-level diplomatic meeting with His Excellency Santiago Peña, President of Paraguay, during his official visit to Mumbai on June 6, 2025.

The meeting with Rajinder Gupta, Chairman Emeritus of Trident Group, centered around investment opportunities in Paraguay’s growing industrial sector. President Peña expressed interest in attracting Indian companies like Trident, recognizing its global leadership in sustainable manufacturing and its success in textiles, chemicals, and pulp & paper industries.

Trident welcomed the opportunity to explore strategic expansion into Paraguay, appreciating the country’s many industrial advantages, such as low-cost energy, affordable labor, economical land, and strategic access to Mercosur markets. Mr. Gupta praised Paraguay’s proactive efforts in forging international partnerships and reiterated Trident’s vision of sustainable global growth.

This engagement is a key step in strengthening India–Paraguay economic ties, with Trident emerging as a frontrunner among Indian companies looking to expand into Latin America. Further discussions and collaboration with Paraguayan trade authorities are expected in the near future.
