Fundamentally Green Metrics Launches in Latin America
MEXICO CITY / UTRECHT – July 8, 2025
In a bold move to transform the Latin American fashion landscape, Fundamentally, a Mexico City-based platform advocating for slow fashion, and Green Story, a global environmental data leader, have unveiled Fundamentally Green Metrics – LATAM — a new pilot initiative that brings environmental intelligence tools to regional fashion producers.
Designed specifically to support small and mid-sized fashion brands and manufacturers across Latin America, this pilot project delivers access to powerful sustainability tools such as Digital Product Passports (DPPs) and carbon footprint tracking, using Green Story’s advanced AI-powered platform.
With increasing global pressure on fashion brands to demonstrate transparency and compliance with sustainability regulations, the program helps regional producers become export-ready, align with international standards, and gain visibility in premium markets.
While Latin America boasts remarkable artistry and textile heritage, many local producers struggle with limited access to robust sustainability data. This program aims to remove financial and technological barriers that have historically sidelined these businesses.
“Sustainability is not a nice-to-have — it’s the foundation for resilience, relevance, and growth in the fashion industry,” says Diana Hernandez, CEO and Founder of Fundamentally.
“Through Fundamentally Green Metrics – LATAM, we aim to make sustainability more accessible, transparent, and inclusive for Latin American producers — helping them align their values with measurable impact and gain global visibility for their creativity.”
Green Story, a sustainability platform with clients in over 34 countries, will offer its deep expertise in Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs), DPPs, and environmental data to support the pilot.
“We are thrilled to partner with Fundamentally to empower Latin American fashion brands and manufacturers with the tools they need to better navigate a sustainable global market,” says Akhil Sivanandan, CEO of Green Story.
“This pilot program provides meaningful access to Green Story’s sustainability tools at preferential rates tailored to the Latin American context, thanks to a regional subsidy managed by Fundamentally. By doing so, we aim to help reduce the financial and technical barriers that have historically limited small producers in the region.”
As part of this collaboration, Fundamentally becomes the exclusive Cluster Partner for Latin America, overseeing the strategic rollout and coordination of the program.
