Tata Power Community Development Trust (TPCDT), in association with Anupam Kher Studio, organized a special screening of the inspiring film Tanvi The Great at PVR Select City Walk, Saket, New Delhi. This initiative forms a key part of Tata Power’s flagship Pay Autention program, aimed at building awareness, empathy, and inclusivity for individuals on the autism spectrum and across the neurodiverse community.
The event saw the participation of over 800 attendees, including 400 neurodiverse individuals and people with disabilities (PWDs) from 10 partnering organizations. Dignitaries present included Mr. Himal Tewari, CHRO & Chief Sustainability & CSR, alongside Tata Power leaders, caregivers, educators, government officials, NGO representatives, and stakeholders committed to neurodiversity and inclusion.
A highlight of the event was the Pay Autention Sensory Experience Zone, curated by Sensory All, a startup dedicated to inclusive environments. The immersive zone allowed participants to better understand sensory perceptions and the lived experiences of neurodiverse individuals.
Tata Power and Anupam Kher Studio plan to extend this inclusive outreach by organizing similar screenings and sensory zones in four more cities: Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Kolkata. These events will continue to foster dialogue and inclusivity among neurotypical and neurodiverse individuals, NGOs, caregivers, educators, and policy influencers.
Representatives from key organizations such as the Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Skill Council for Persons with Disabilities, NIEPID, and several inclusive education foundations including SHAD Centre, Jai Jagruti Foundation, Learning Ladder, Action for Autism, and Youth4Jobs, were also present.
Mr. Himal Tewari, CHRO & Chief Sustainability & CSR, Tata Power, emphasized,
“Inclusion isn’t about treating people with autism differently, it’s about celebrating the uniqueness in each of us. With Tanvi The Great, we aim to spark conversations that build empathy and embrace differences. At Tata Power, our commitment to inclusive and sustainable development drives us to bridge gaps through our Pay Autention initiative – India’s first physical and digital neurodiversity support network. Because in the world we envision, every mind truly matters.”
Anupam Kher, veteran actor and director of Tanvi The Great, added,
“We are all made of stories, they shape us, inspire us, and connect us. As storytellers, it is our duty to shine a light on narratives that celebrate goodness and inclusion. Tanvi The Great is deeply personal, inspired by my niece Tanvi, who, like so many neurodiverse individuals, is brimming with talent and potential. True success for this story will be when it reaches hearts across the country. We’re proud to partner with Tata Power Community Development Trust, whose Pay Autention initiative is creating awareness and support for autism and neurodiversity. Together, we hope to create a lasting, meaningful impact for our neurodiverse communities.”
Tanvi The Great tells the compelling story of a young neurodiverse girl breaking societal barriers to follow her dreams. It shines a spotlight on the capabilities and resilience of individuals on the autism spectrum, urging society to embrace inclusion and understanding.
This screening further strengthens Tata Power’s commitment to social equity under the Pay Autention program. The initiative already supports early diagnosis, caregiver empowerment, inclusive education, skill development, and workplace integration. With over 500 partner organizations and 18,000+ individuals impacted, Tata Power is redefining support for neurodiversity in underserved communities.
Through this cultural and social initiative, TPCDT reaffirms that storytelling can transform perspectives and mainstream neurodiversity as a vital part of India’s inclusive future.
