In celebration of National Handloom Day, three leading organizations—Anveshanam Foundation, Textile Value Chain, and the Textiles Committee (Ministry of Textiles)—are collaborating to host the Handloom Day Conference 2025. The event will be held on 7th August 2025, from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM at the Textiles Committee Auditorium, located in Prabhadevi, Mumbai.

This special conference will spotlight India’s vibrant handloom legacy, aiming to foster conversations around innovation, sustainability, and the future outlook of the handloom sector. The initiative serves as a unifying platform to honor the craftsmanship and cultural significance of handloom artisans across the country.

Smt. Roop Rashi Mahapatra, Textile Commissioner, will grace the occasion as Chief Guest, acknowledging her dedication to empowering India’s textile artisans and promoting traditional weaving practices.

The program will host an esteemed lineup of speakers, including weavers, dyers, designers, entrepreneurs, researchers, industrialists, academicians, NGOs, and other vital contributors to the handloom ecosystem. Their insights and real-world experiences will shed light on both opportunities and challenges faced by the sector.

Through this inclusive and knowledge-rich environment, the conference intends to encourage cross-sector collaboration, support grassroots innovations, and fuel long-term strategies for strengthening Indian handlooms in both domestic and global markets.

All stakeholders—from artisans and manufacturers to policymakers and textile enthusiasts—are invited to attend and participate in this shared mission to preserve and promote India’s handloom heritage.
