Collaboration across the textile supply chain takes centre stage at the 65th edition of Filo, reinforcing the belief that only a united and dialog-driven ecosystem can successfully address the challenges facing the textile industry today. Among these challenges, sustainability remains one of the most complex and pressing, prompting Filo to approach the topic through a renewed and more integrated vision.

This commitment finds tangible expression in the Sustainability Area, once again developed in collaboration with C.L.A.S.S., the international eco-hub founded by Giusy Bettoni. Located within the exhibition’s Networking Area, the Sustainability Area brings together innovative and responsible textile proposals, positioning sustainability as a strategic driver rather than a constraint.

Native Wools and InsideOut Values at the Core

For its 65th edition, the Sustainability Area focuses on two interconnected themes: Native Wools and the continued evolution of the InsideOut values framework, introduced in the previous season.

Native wools represent a deeply rooted expression of local identity, shaped by centuries-old relationships between landscapes, rural communities and pastoral traditions. Curated by C.L.A.S.S., the Sustainability Area offers an immersive exploration of these materials, showcasing how traditional sheep farming and local expertise can be transformed into contemporary textile applications. This initiative has been made possible through close coordination between C.L.A.S.S. and Patrizia Maggia, President of Agenzia Lane d’Italia.

From Local Fibres to High-Value Applications

The Filo Sustainability Area presents a selection of case histories curated by C.L.A.S.S., illustrating how native wool supply chains can evolve into niche, high-quality products with strong appeal for fashion, furniture and interior design sectors. Participating companies and projects include Fibre Gentili, Piacenza 1733, Lanificio Paoletti – MTF, interior design brand Mariantonia Urru, Agenzia Lane d’Italia, and the Marlaine Project, funded by the Interreg Italy–France Maritime Programme with the National Research Council – Institute for BioEconomy as lead partner.

Alongside material innovation, the Sustainability Area once again highlights the ten measurable yet often invisible values shaping the new generation wardrobe: Ethics, Social Initiatives, Transparency and Traceability, Environment, Health, Circular Economy Initiatives, Design, Ingredients, Production, and Dyeing & Finishing. These principles underpin the InsideOut project by C.L.A.S.S., which aims to make such values visible and easier to communicate across the entire supply chain.

The next phase of the InsideOut initiative focuses on launching a consumer-oriented awareness campaign, designed to foster education, engagement and participation through a new communication language that connects supply chain stakeholders, industry players and designers directly with end users.

Dialogue and Knowledge Exchange at Filo 65

The discussion initiated within the Sustainability Area will be further explored through two dedicated sessions of the “Dialoghi di Confronto” series, organised in collaboration with C.L.A.S.S.:

  • “Native Wools: From local sheep farming to territories, customised supply chains and knowledge for contemporary textile industry”
    (Wednesday, 11 February 2026 – 2:30 pm)

  • “InsideOut – Visible and invisible values in the new generation wardrobe. A new language to communicate them, from supply chain to consumers”
    (Wednesday, 11 February 2026 – 3:30 pm)

Both panels will underline the strategic role of the supply chain in developing textile products capable of addressing the demands of an increasingly complex and competitive global market.

The 65th edition of Filo will take place on 11–12 February 2026 at Fiera Milano Rho, Hall 5.
