The Azerbaijan Textile Association (ATA) has officially joined the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) as a Member Association, marking a new step in the country’s integration into the global textile manufacturing network.

The association was established to represent and support the development of Azerbaijan’s textile and apparel sector. It works to promote industry interests, support policy engagement, strengthen capacity building, and encourage international cooperation across the textile value chain.

By becoming part of International Textile Manufacturers Federation, ATA aims to expand opportunities for sustainable growth, innovation and competitiveness within Azerbaijan’s textile industry.

Expanding international collaboration

The International Textile Manufacturers Federation represents companies responsible for roughly 90% of global textile and apparel production, covering the full textile manufacturing value chain.

Through this membership, companies affiliated with Azerbaijan Textile Association will gain access to global industry platforms that support information sharing, networking and collaboration.

Christian Schindler, Director General of International Textile Manufacturers Federation, stated:

“Welcoming the Azerbaijan Textile Association as a new Member Association further strengthens ITMF’s global network. Azerbaijan’s textile sector has significant development potential, and ATA’s participation in ITMF will contribute to deeper international collaboration, knowledge sharing, and integration into the global textile value chain.”

Access to industry insights and networking

Membership in International Textile Manufacturers Federation will provide ATA members with access to industry resources such as global statistics, market reports, surveys, webinars and research insights.

The federation’s conferences, workshops and networking events will also provide Azerbaijani textile companies with opportunities to expand international partnerships, improve export potential and adopt global industry practices.

Farida Akhundova, Executive Director of Azerbaijan Textile Association, commented:

“Joining ITMF marks an important milestone for Azerbaijan’s textile industry. It is a strategic step toward deeper integration into global markets and the adoption of international standards and innovations. ITMF membership opens new opportunities for our member companies to strengthen their competitiveness, expand exports, and build long-term international partnerships.”

Strengthening Azerbaijan’s textile sector

The new membership reflects the strategic goal of Azerbaijan Textile Association to position Azerbaijan as a stronger participant in the global textile supply chain. The collaboration is expected to support the country’s textile manufacturers in strengthening international trade connections and industry cooperation.
