New technologies focus on speed, automation, sustainability, and high-quality textile printing
Electronics For Imaging showcased its latest high-performance display graphics, packaging, and textile printing technologies at FESPA Global Print Expo 2026 in Barcelona, Spain. The company introduced a broad portfolio of hybrid, roll-to-roll, and textile inkjet innovations aimed at helping print providers increase efficiency, diversify applications, and drive profitable growth.
The company highlighted several advanced printing systems, including the EFI VUTEk M3h X hybrid LED printer, EFI VUTEk FabriVU 340 i8 dye sublimation printer, EFI VUTEk X5r roll-to-roll LED printer, and EFI Reggiani ecoTERRA water-based pigment solutions for textile production.
Frank Pennisi, CEO of EFI, said the event serves as a global platform for demonstrating technologies that support faster production, operational flexibility, and sustainable growth across sign, display, packaging, and textile printing applications.
Focus on High-Performance Textile Printing
EFI placed strong emphasis on textile innovation with the introduction of the EFI VUTEk FabriVU 340 i8 printer, designed for soft signage, retail environments, SEG wall graphics, and branded display applications.
The 3.4-meter dye sublimation printer features inline fixation and advanced media control, enabling direct printing onto polyester-based materials in a single production step. The printer delivers up to 2,400 dpi resolution and supports eight-colour printing for wider colour gamut, smoother gradients, and enhanced brand colour accuracy.
EFI also showcased the EFI Reggiani ecoTERRA water-based pigment solution, designed to simplify textile production by reducing pre-treatment, steaming, washing, and finishing requirements. According to the company, the technology helps lower water, energy, and chemical consumption while supporting faster turnaround times and sustainable on-demand textile manufacturing.
Another key launch included the EFI Reggiani ecoNEXT Plus industrial digital textile printer for direct-to-fabric pigment printing. The integrated system combines ink delivery, fixation, colour feeding, and production analytics to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
Automation and AI-Powered Printing
EFI also demonstrated advanced automation features across its printing portfolio. The EFI VUTEk X5r printer integrates workflow automation tools such as Smart Slide automated job collection, inline trimming systems, and EFI IQ cloud analytics for monitoring production performance.
The system also features InSpec AI, an artificial intelligence-powered print quality control solution that continuously scans printed output to identify defects, reduce waste, and improve production consistency.
Packaging and Display Graphics Expansion
In addition to textile applications, EFI highlighted innovations in packaging and display graphics through its EFI Nozomi digital inkjet platform. The company presented technologies aimed at high-productivity corrugated packaging and sustainable display graphics production.
Sustainability at the Core
EFI’s latest portfolio reflects the growing industry demand for sustainable production technologies. The company emphasized solutions that reduce resource consumption, improve workflow efficiency, and support environmentally responsible textile and print manufacturing.
FESPA Global Print Expo 2026 brought together more than 500 exhibitors and thousands of print professionals from around the world, serving as a key platform for discovering the latest trends and innovations in digital printing and textile technology.
