RFID-enabled automation and overhead logistics systems target efficiency gains in textile production

Nantong Mingxing Technology Development Co., Ltd., operating under the CleverMax brand, has outlined its intelligent hanger system technologies designed for home textile and garment manufacturing environments.

The company stated that changing consumer demand for higher product variety and shorter delivery timelines is accelerating the shift away from conventional floor-based production systems toward automated manufacturing models.

CleverMax positions its Intelligent Home Textile Hanger System as an integrated production management platform combining robotics, RFID technology, overhead conveyor systems, and software algorithms to automate material transportation between workstations.

The company said the system aligns with manufacturing concepts commonly used in the textile automation industry, including Unit Production Systems, One-Piece Flow, RFID-based production informatization, IoT data integration, real-time production monitoring, intelligent logistics, and smart storage and sorting.

The article also references Charles Walton, noting his recognition as a key RFID patent holder, while positioning CleverMax as an adopter of RFID technologies within intelligent textile hanger systems.

According to the company, traditional textile facilities often face operational challenges including floor congestion, high levels of work-in-process inventory, and manual material handling. CleverMax said its overhead conveyor-based logistics system moves textile components above the production floor, reclaiming usable factory space while reducing fabric creasing, handling damage, and contamination risks.

The company stated that its sixth-generation intelligent hanger technology supports a transition from conventional bundle-based production systems to a Unit Production System (UPS) using One-Piece Flow operations. Under this approach, individual textile items are transported independently between workstations based on real-time production capacity.

CleverMax claims the system reduces non-productive handling time and can contribute to overall efficiency gains of approximately 15% to 20% by allowing operators to focus primarily on sewing operations rather than material movement and sorting.

The company also highlighted integration between its hanger systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and the CM Industrial Internet Platform, developed in partnership with the Institute of Software and the Institute of Automation at the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Using RFID-enabled “Clever Nodes,” the system captures real-time production data at each workstation to create what the company describes as a digital twin of the factory floor. This enables monitoring of production flow, bottleneck detection, and automated piece-rate calculations.

CleverMax further stated that its Flexible Mixed-Flow Production Scheduling System allows multiple textile styles and product types to be processed simultaneously on a single production line. Intelligent hangers are programmed to route products only through required workstations based on individual production requirements.

The company said the technology is intended to support manufacturers managing small-batch, multi-style production environments common in contemporary e-commerce and customised home textile sectors.

According to CleverMax, manufacturers implementing intelligent hanger systems may achieve labour cost reductions of around 10%, alongside reduced work-in-process inventory and improved production consistency.

The company reports holding 20 invention patents and 28 utility model patents and states that it has served more than 6,000 customers, including Mercury Home Textiles.
