Global student competition introduces Web3-based recognition and sustainability awareness initiatives
BE GREEN HEROES, in collaboration with Clean Recycling Initiative and HEAT-MX, has announced the International True Sustainability Competition (ITSC) 2026, previously known as the International Sustainability Marketing Competition (ISMC).
The competition invites post-secondary students worldwide to create campaigns focused on raising public awareness about environmental misinformation influenced by narratives lacking scientific foundation.
According to BE GREEN HEROES, the 2026 edition follows the ISMC 2024 competition, which engaged nearly 1,500 students from 702 post-secondary institutions across 120 countries.
The organisation stated that the updated ITSC format will introduce Web3-based recognition for registrants, competitors and winners, along with monetary prizes for selected participants.
Sae Chang said: “We are pleased to once again present this global event, now offering enhanced learning experiences and Web3 based recognition for all participants. We paused the competition in 2025 to focus on integrating it into the BE GREEN HEROES learning platform under the LEARN. EARN. ACT. principles. The result is a stronger program, where participants access free learning materials and earn certificates for Green Hero Coins (GHC), with tokens to be issued upon official launch.”
He further added: “This truly innovative platform connects science based learning with recognition through Green Hero Coins and enables participants to engage in BGH’s operational decisions. While this competition is currently open to post secondary students, similar opportunities will soon be extended to the general public and high school students.”
The competition is positioned as part of the organisation’s broader sustainability learning and awareness initiatives.
