Design brand Schumacher is continuing its expansion across key U.S. design markets with the opening of a new trade-only Schumacher Studio in Richmond, Virginia, scheduled to welcome designers in August 2026.
The new 1,800-square-foot studio has been created as a dedicated resource center for interior designers, offering a collaborative environment where professionals can explore products, develop projects, meet clients, and connect with the broader design community.
According to Emily Romero, President of North America at Schumacher, Richmond was a natural choice for the company’s continued growth strategy due to its rich architectural heritage and strong design culture.
“Richmond holds a meaningful place in our expansion story,” Romero said. “The city has a deep architectural heritage, a refined aesthetic sensibility, and one of the most distinctive design identities in the South.”
She added that the new studio is intended to function as an extension of designers’ own resource libraries, providing access to products, inspiration, and expert support from the Schumacher team.
Located at 4917 Grove Avenue, the Richmond studio will offer access to nearly 10,000 wallcovering, fabric, and trim samples from Schumacher and its sister brands, including Patterson Flynn, Backdrop, and Tillett Textiles.
The facility will feature dedicated workspace areas designed to support project planning and client consultations. Designers will be able to create material schemes, review product selections, and collaborate directly with Schumacher’s sales specialists.
In addition to serving as a design resource hub, the studio will host regular industry events aimed at fostering networking opportunities and professional engagement within Richmond’s growing interior design community.
The Richmond opening marks another step in Schumacher’s strategy to strengthen its presence in important regional design markets while providing designers with convenient access to its extensive portfolio of decorative fabrics, wallcoverings, trims, and flooring solutions.
With the new location, Schumacher aims to offer a more localized and collaborative experience for design professionals seeking inspiration, product expertise, and project support in one dedicated space.
