Trident Group celebrated the 12th International Yoga Day at its manufacturing units in Sanghera and Dhaula in Punjab, Budhni in Madhya Pradesh, and its corporate office in Ludhiana. The programme witnessed participation from more than 1,000 employees, their family members and residents from neighbouring villages.

Certified instructors conducted guided yoga and meditation sessions at each location. Participants practised yoga asanas, breathing exercises and meditation techniques aimed at improving flexibility, concentration and overall fitness. The sessions also highlighted the importance of healthy daily habits, mindfulness and regular physical activity.

Inspired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s message of “Yoga for Humanity 2.0”, the programme focused on the role of yoga in supporting physical health, mental well-being and social harmony. The participation of local communities reflected the company’s efforts to promote wellness beyond the workplace.

Reflecting on the occasion, Trident Group Chairman Emeritus and Rajya Sabha MP Rajinder Gupta said, “Yoga is not merely a physical exercise but a complete way to make life balanced, meaningful and purposeful. He said that in today’s fast-paced life, people often leave behind health and mental balance in the pursuit of success. Indian culture has always taught that success and happiness are complementary, not contradictory.”

He further explained, “The word yoga is derived from the Sanskrit word “yuj”, which means “to join” or “to unite”. Yoga establishes harmony between the body, mind, intellect and spirit. In ancient India, yoga was not limited to asanas; it was a way of life that nurtured values such as discipline, patience, concentration, service and balance.”

Rajinder Gupta also noted that rising levels of stress, anxiety and mental fatigue have increased the relevance of yoga in modern life. He said yoga contributes to physical health, mental clarity, emotional stability and spiritual balance, while encouraging young people to adopt the practice to help maintain balance amid growing pressures.

The company also highlighted its ongoing employee wellness initiatives, including awareness programmes on posture correction, eye relaxation exercises, desk-based stretching and workplace wellness breaks. According to Trident Group, these programmes support preventive healthcare, healthy ageing and a positive workplace environment.

The Yoga Day celebrations concluded with refreshments for participants across all locations.
