Tata Power Earns ‘Next Leaders’ Recognition in IiAS Corporate Governance Scorecard 2025

Tata Power, one of India’s largest integrated power companies, has been recognised in the ‘Next Leaders’ category of the Indian Corporate Governance Scorecard Assessment 2025, conducted by Institutional Investor Advisory Services India Ltd. (IiAS).

The recognition follows the annual assessment of companies listed in the S&P BSE 100 Index using the Indian Corporate Governance Scorecard framework. The framework was jointly developed by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), BSE, and IiAS, and is aligned with the G20/OECD Principles of Corporate Governance.

Assessment Based on Four Governance Pillars

The Corporate Governance Scorecard evaluates listed companies across four equally weighted pillars:

  • Rights and equitable treatment of shareholders
  • Sustainability and resilience
  • Disclosures and transparency
  • Responsibilities of the board

The assessment examines governance practices at the company level and measures performance against internationally recognised corporate governance principles.

Decade of Governance Assessment

The 2025 edition marks the 10th annual Indian Corporate Governance Scorecard, completing a decade of monitoring governance standards across corporate India.

According to IiAS, this year’s assessment reflects a more mature governance landscape, with companies increasingly focusing beyond regulatory compliance towards strengthening board oversight, transparency, resilience, and long-term value creation.
