The School of Fashion and Textiles (SFT) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) concluded its annual PolyU Fashion Show 2026, showcasing innovative fashion collections created by graduating students at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 3 July 2026.

The event featured 21 graduating designers presenting 78 outfits across categories including casual wear, evening wear, intimate apparel and activewear. Nearly 1,200 industry professionals, designers and fashion enthusiasts attended the runway show, while almost 13,000 viewers joined the livestream from around the world.

Designed by students from PolyU’s BA (Hons) Scheme in Fashion and Textiles, the collections explored themes such as identity, multiculturalism and social ideologies. The designers incorporated advanced techniques including 3D printing, vacuum-formed resin moulding, fermentation, crystallisation processes, bioplastics and kombucha scoby, demonstrating the integration of craftsmanship with emerging technologies.

Prof. Erin Cho, Dean of PolyU’s School of Fashion and Textiles, said the event reflected the institution’s commitment to nurturing innovative fashion talent capable of contributing to both local and global fashion industries.

Five awards and scholarships were presented during the event to recognize outstanding student achievements.

The prestigious Consinee Grand Award was presented to Cheng Sze-ki (Bella) for her collection “BETWIXT AND BETWEEN,” inspired by concepts of identity, transformation and liminality. The collection combined monochromatic tailoring with transparent 3D-printed resin, laser-engraved organza and layered fabrics to explore the relationship between permanence and change.

The HKIAIA Overall Grand Award was awarded to Cheng Sin-kei (Fion) for her intimate apparel collection “Unraveled Soul.” Inspired by the unseen dimensions of the human psyche, the collection featured soft tonal palettes, translucent fabrics and fluid silhouettes to express individuality and transformation.

The annual fashion showcase continues to serve as a platform for emerging designers to present creative concepts, technical skills and innovative textile applications while strengthening connections between academia and the fashion industry.
