The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), in association with the Global Alliance for Textile Sustainability (GATS), will launch the Eco-Stitch Sustainability & Circularity Hub at Bharat Tex 2026. Developed under the theme “Sustainable, Circular and Competitive Bharat,” the initiative aims to highlight India’s capabilities in sustainable textile and apparel manufacturing while reinforcing the country’s position as a preferred sourcing destination for global brands and retailers.

The Eco-Stitch Sustainability & Circularity Hub will showcase India’s integrated textile ecosystem, covering the entire value chain—from fibre, yarn and fabrics to recycling, garment manufacturing, traceability technologies and sustainable fashion solutions. The initiative is designed to demonstrate how the Indian textile and apparel industry is responding to evolving global sourcing requirements focused on sustainability, transparency and responsible manufacturing.

The pavilion will feature immersive thematic zones, including the India Impact Wall, Circularity at Scale, From Waste to Global Wardrobe, Made in Circular Bharat, Material & Innovation Library, and the Circular Bharat Forum. These curated experiences will highlight India’s advancements in recycled and natural fibres, resource-efficient production, circular manufacturing models, digital traceability, sustainable apparel manufacturing and export-oriented product innovation.

Beyond an exhibition, the Eco-Stitch Sustainability & Circularity Hub will serve as a business networking platform connecting manufacturers, exporters, brands, recyclers, technology providers, startups, certification agencies, policymakers and international organisations. The platform will host international buyer walkthroughs, B2B meetings, sustainability-focused knowledge sessions, CEO dialogues, product launches, sustainability report releases, MoU signings, case study presentations, product demonstrations and strategic partnership discussions.

Speaking about the initiative, Santosh Katariya, President, CMAI, said global buyers are increasingly assessing sourcing destinations based on sustainability, transparency and regulatory preparedness. He noted that the Eco-Stitch Sustainability & Circularity Hub brings together the entire textile and apparel value chain to demonstrate India’s capability to deliver sustainable manufacturing at scale while strengthening its position as a trusted global sourcing hub.

Naveen Sainani, Honorary General Secretary and Chairman – ESG Committee, CMAI, said the association has been working with industry stakeholders to improve sustainability readiness and enhance India’s competitiveness in international markets. He described the Eco-Stitch Hub as a natural extension of these efforts, providing a collaborative platform to accelerate innovation, circularity, knowledge sharing and global partnerships.

Parvinder Singh, Founder-Director, GATS, said the initiative will showcase India’s strengths in responsible manufacturing, circular materials, recycling innovation and traceable textile value chains. He added that the event will also feature the release of a CXO Blueprint and a Sustainable Textiles Accord to guide the industry toward measurable sustainability and circularity outcomes.

The initiative comes at a time when international regulations such as the EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), Digital Product Passport (DPP), Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) are reshaping global textile trade. Buyers increasingly seek sourcing partners capable of delivering environmentally compliant, transparent and resilient manufacturing.

The Eco-Stitch Sustainability & Circularity Hub is supported by a wide range of industry and institutional partners, including Grasim, GIZ, UNEP, UNIDO, Alliance for Textile Sustainability, Centre for Responsible Business (CRB), Conserve India, Fashion for Change (FMC), IDH, Green Stitch, Grant Thornton, H&M, Fashion for Good, Canopy, Otteri, Reput, Restart Alliance, Recore, and Ramsons, among others.

By bringing together business, policy, innovation and sustainability under one platform, the Eco-Stitch Sustainability & Circularity Hub aims to strengthen Bharat Tex 2026 as a global platform for advancing India’s sustainable textile and apparel industry while enhancing its role in international value chains.
