Dallas Market Center CEO Cindy Morris Named Finalist for Leadership Excellence Awards
Recognition highlights strategic leadership, industry advocacy and efforts to support retailers and manufacturers during challenging market conditions.
Dallas Market Center (DMC) has announced that its President and CEO, Cindy Morris, has been named a finalist in the Strategic Leadership category of D CEO magazine’s inaugural Leadership Excellence Awards, recognizing executives who demonstrate exceptional leadership, business performance and long-term industry impact.
The new awards program honors leaders across North Texas who drive organizational success through purposeful leadership, strong workplace culture, ethical decision-making and meaningful contributions to their industries. This inaugural edition attracted more than 400 nominations from public and private companies, nonprofit organizations and businesses of all sizes.
Recognized for Strategic Leadership
Following several rounds of evaluation, D CEO’s editorial team selected finalists across multiple leadership categories, including strategic leadership, operational excellence, workplace culture, community impact and visionary leadership.
Morris is one of seven finalists competing in the Strategic Leadership category alongside prominent business leaders, including the president of the Dallas Stars, the commissioner of the LPGA, and the CEO of a leading IT services company.
Leadership During Industry Challenges
Morris’ nomination recognizes her role in strengthening Dallas Market Center through strategic reinvestment initiatives and expanding its market presence.
A significant focus of the recognition is her leadership of the Stand With Main Street campaign, an industry advocacy initiative launched to support retailers, manufacturers and sales representatives navigating the impact of tariffs on the home furnishings and gift industries.
Under her leadership, Dallas Market Center coordinated a broad advocacy effort that included:
- Organizing a grassroots industry petition.
- Participating in lobbying initiatives.
- Strengthening partnerships with advocacy organizations, including the National Retail Federation.
- Filing an amicus brief in a related federal legal case.
- Providing timely policy updates to customers as tariff regulations evolved.
Commitment to the Industry
Reflecting on the recognition, Cindy Morris emphasized that the achievement represents the collective efforts of the Dallas Market Center team and the broader industry.
She noted that effective leadership during periods of disruption requires standing alongside the retailers, manufacturers and sales representatives who rely on industry markets, adding that the recognition belongs to everyone who supported the Stand With Main Street initiative.
Winners to Be Announced in September
All finalists will be featured in the September edition of D CEO magazine, with winners scheduled to be announced during the publication’s inaugural Leadership Excellence Awards celebration later that month.
The recognition underscores Dallas Market Center’s continued commitment to industry leadership, advocacy and supporting the retail community while reinforcing Cindy Morris’ reputation as one of North Texas’ leading business executives.
