Teway Food Achieves 100% Compliance Accuracy with Centric PLM, Accelerates R&D Digitalization
Centric Software® has announced that Sichuan Teway Food Group Co., Ltd. (Teway Food) has successfully implemented Centric PLM™, enabling the Chinese compound condiment manufacturer to digitalize research and development (R&D), automate regulatory compliance and strengthen cost management across its product portfolio.
The implementation has significantly improved operational efficiency, reducing formula updates from several days to just minutes while achieving 100% compliance calculation accuracy through automated verification of food safety, export, halal and additive regulations.
Driving Digital Transformation in Food Manufacturing
Founded in 2008, Teway Food is one of China’s leading producers of compound condiments, offering products under seven brands, including Haorenjia, Dahongpao, and Tianche. The company supplies recipe-based seasonings, hotpot bases and sauces to customers across China and more than 50 international markets.
As the business expanded, its growing portfolio and international presence made manual R&D processes increasingly difficult to manage. Product data was dispersed across departments, formula revisions were time-consuming, compliance reviews required manual verification and project visibility remained limited.
To overcome these challenges, the company selected Centric PLM after an extensive evaluation process.
The R&D and Innovation Center at Teway Food stated that Centric Software was chosen because of its strong understanding of the consumer products industry, extensive implementation experience and flexible platform capabilities.
Phased Implementation Delivers Measurable Results
The digital transformation project was implemented in two phases.
The first phase, launched in April 2023, established foundational product data and project management capabilities.
The second phase, completed in May 2025, introduced automated risk management, compliance verification and cost management functions.
Since deployment, operational improvements have been substantial.
Updating 44 product formulas, which previously required approximately four person-days, can now be completed within minutes.
The company also reported:

- 80% faster formula review processes
- 80% faster product specification creation
- Automatic verification of food safety, export, halal and additive regulations immediately upon formula entry
Building a Data-Driven Innovation Platform
With its digital R&D infrastructure now established, Teway Food plans to further strengthen data-driven product development and innovation capabilities.
