Precautions for Flood-Affected Policyholders

IFFCO-TOKIO GIC has also advised customers to prioritise personal safety during and after floods and take precautions to prevent further damage. People should avoid entering flooded areas or driving through waterlogged roads and stay away from exposed electrical wires. Where it is safe to do so, the main power supply should be switched off.

Policyholders are advised to photograph or record videos of damage to vehicles, homes, businesses and other insured assets before carrying out repairs or disposing of damaged items. They should also preserve relevant documents, bills and other evidence associated with the loss and notify their insurance company promptly.

In emergency situations, safety should remain the priority, with residents advised to follow instructions and advisories issued by local authorities.

The latest initiative reflects IFFCO-TOKIO GIC’s focus on providing timely assistance to policyholders during natural calamities and helping affected customers navigate the insurance claims process with greater speed and support.
