The textile machinery industry is set to converge in Shanghai from 20 to 24 November 2026 for ITMA ASIA + CITME 2026, one of Asia’s leading business platforms for textile machinery. The exhibition will take place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), bringing together machinery manufacturers, technology providers, textile producers and industry professionals from across the global textile value chain.
The 2026 edition will occupy seven exhibition halls, covering approximately 180,000 square metres of gross exhibition space. This represents a 10% expansion compared with the previous edition, reflecting continued industry interest in Asia’s textile manufacturing and technology market.
Focus on Emerging Textile Technologies
ITMA ASIA + CITME 2026 will place a strong emphasis on technologies addressing the textile industry’s changing production and sustainability requirements.
Newly introduced sectors will include equipment for textile-reinforced composites, textile recycling technologies, digital platforms and automation solutions for production processes. These segments are expected to highlight technologies designed to improve productivity while reducing resource consumption and supporting more sustainable manufacturing models.
The exhibition will also feature a dedicated Research and Innovation sector, bringing together leading Chinese universities to present advanced research and examples of collaboration between industry, academia and research institutions.
Innovations on display will include embodied robots for textile applications, intelligent inspection technologies and artificial intelligence development platforms, highlighting the growing role of automation, AI and intelligent systems in textile production.
More Than 1,800 Exhibitors Expected
More than 1,800 exhibiting companies have so far applied to participate, with nearly 90% of exhibitors coming from China.
The exhibition will cover the complete textile and garment manufacturing value chain, with exhibits organised according to production processes. Key sectors will include braiding, dyeing and finishing, embroidery, garment making, knitting, man-made fibres, nonwovens, printing, recycling, spinning, testing and packaging, weaving and other textile technologies.
Leading domestic and international companies confirmed to participate include Atexco, B.T.D., Barmag, Beijing Chonglee, BEST, CHTC, Cixing, Dornier, Epson, Fong’s, Hicorp, Hongyuan, Itema, Karl Mayer, Konica Minolta, LMW, Murata, Picanol, Rieter, Rifa, Santoni, Saurer, Shima Seiki, Staubli, Taitan, Texpro, TMT, Truetzschler, Vandewiele, Yingyang and Yoantion.
Their participation will bring together solutions spanning digitalisation, intelligent manufacturing and automation, with a focus on improving sustainability, energy efficiency, resource efficiency and overall production performance.
International Visitor Promotion Expands
The previous 2024 edition attracted more than 90,000 visitors from 111 countries and regions, with nearly 90% of visitors coming from China. International participation also recorded notable growth from South American markets, particularly Argentina, Brazil and Colombia.
Visitor numbers increased from several other international markets, including Algeria, Japan, Italy, Sri Lanka, Türkiye and the United Kingdom.
Ahead of the 2026 edition, the organisers conducted overseas promotional and outreach activities between April and July across key textile-producing markets. Promotional programmes were held in India, including Coimbatore, Ludhiana and Surat; Jakarta in Indonesia; Tokyo in Japan; Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia; and Bursa and Istanbul in Türkiye.
Further promotional activities are planned in Bangladesh, Brazil, Egypt, Pakistan, South Africa and other countries and regions, as organisers seek to expand international participation and strengthen the show’s global reach.
Trade Visitor Registration Open
Trade visitor pre-registration opened on 25 May 2026 and will remain available until 19 November 2026.
Visitors can register through the official exhibition websites, ITMA ASIA and CITME. Registration is also available through the WeChat accounts of the International Textile Machinery Exhibition, the China Textile Machinery Association and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Textile Industry Sub-Council.
Registered trade visitors can benefit from a 40% discount on early-bird admission tickets.
In addition, domestic and international trade associations, industry organisations and corporate visitor groups comprising six or more participants can apply for preferential group admission packages, designed to provide a more streamlined exhibition experience.
