New PLM-based solution helps fashion and retail brands manage product, supplier and compliance data for Digital Product Passports.

Discover e-Solutions (DeSL) has launched a new Digital Product Passport (DPP) solution for fashion, apparel, footwear and retail brands.

The new software is built into the company’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platform. It allows brands to create, manage and publish Digital Product Passports using existing product, supplier, quality and certification data.

DPP Data Managed Through PLM

Digital Product Passport requirements are evolving across markets. Brands must bring together data from many parts of the supply chain. This includes product details, materials, suppliers, certifications, quality records and supporting documents.

DeSL uses PLM as the central source for this information. Passports are created from approved data held in the platform. This keeps passport information linked to product and supplier records.

The system also maintains version history and approval records. This can help brands improve data accuracy and traceability.

AI Helps Check Documents

DeSL also uses AI to review supporting documents.

The AI can find key information in documents. It can also identify expiry dates.

The system can compare documents with data stored in PLM. This can help brands spot missing or different information.

Brands can then get a clearer view of their DPP data.

Flexible Publishing Options

Brands can create Digital Product Passports at the right product level.

They can share the passports in several ways. These include QR codes, portals and retail systems.

The solution also supports open APIs. This allows DPP data to connect with other systems.

Brands can show different information to different users. The data remains linked to the same product record.

Supporting Future DPP Needs

DeSL supports a step-by-step approach to DPP adoption.

Brands can first build their product and supplier data. They can then add more compliance information.

New data fields can be added as DPP rules change. Brands can also add new documents and certifications.

This approach can help companies prepare for future DPP requirements.

Colin Marks, CEO of DeSL, said: “Digital Product Passports are fundamentally a data and governance challenge.”

He added that brands need to know where their information comes from. They also need to track how it is managed and supported.

With DPP tools inside PLM, DeSL aims to make this process easier for brands.
