Red Land Cotton has turned an Alabama cotton farm into the foundation of a growing Made-in-USA bedding brand. Founded by farmer Mark Yeager and his daughter Anna Yeager Brakefield in 2016, the company produces premium cotton bedding through a domestic textile supply chain.

The idea began with a simple suggestion. In 2015, Mark’s sister commented on a photo of his cotton crop and suggested making sheets from the family’s North Alabama cotton.

The idea quickly became a business plan. Mark and Anna wanted to create heirloom-style bedding that offered comfort, quality and a strong connection to American farming.

Building a Domestic Textile Supply Chain

The family worked with textile expert Jack Miller to develop the supply chain. Their goal was clear: keep as much of the production process as possible in the United States.

The cotton grown by Yeager is ginned at Yeager Gin Co. It then moves through domestic spinning and weaving operations before being finished and sewn into bedding.

The company worked with Parkdale Mills for spinning and Hamrick Mills for weaving. These partnerships helped Red Land Cotton turn its Alabama-grown cotton into fabric for its first bedding collection.

In 2016, the company placed an order for 20,000 yards of fabric. The first products were completed in time for the Christmas season.

Red Land Cotton Expands Production

As demand increased, Red Land Cotton expanded its manufacturing capabilities. Growth accelerated in 2019 and 2020, creating a need for additional cut-and-sew capacity.

The company opened its own cut-and-sew facility in Tylertown, Mississippi, in 2020. The facility helped Red Land Cotton increase production while keeping its focus on domestic manufacturing.

Today, the company’s story connects farming, textile manufacturing and retail. Its business model shows how a cotton crop can move through several stages before reaching consumers as a finished home textile product.

A Farm-to-Home Story

Anna Brakefield’s marketing experience also played an important role in building the brand. After studying graphic design at Auburn University, she worked in marketing in New York and Nashville before joining her father in the business.

For Red Land Cotton, the Made-in-USA message remains central to its identity. The company believes that a strong American textile industry supports farmers and manufacturers across the supply chain.

The story gained wider attention in July 2026 when Fox Broadcasting’s “Fox & Friends” featured Mark Yeager and Anna Brakefield at Hamrick Mills in South Carolina.

For Red Land Cotton, the journey continues to connect American-grown cotton with American-made bedding, bringing the farm-to-home concept to consumers.
