Inthing Expands Presence into Global Markets

Inthing, a homegrown fashion and apparel company, is preparing to expand its presence in global markets. The company has a business legacy of 68 years, with roots in fabric trading and textile manufacturing.

The international expansion marks a new phase in Inthing’s growth. The company plans to use its manufacturing strength, supply-chain expertise and distribution network to build a wider global presence.

Inthing has also consolidated its production network through a hub-and-spoke model. The system includes three Master Units supported by nine smaller manufacturing units. This structure is designed to improve coordination, efficiency and production capacity.

Today, Inthing has around 1,500 employees and an annual production capacity of about 18 lakh garments. Its three Master Units cover around 1.5 lakh sq. ft. and work with nine connected manufacturing units.

The company also has a strong domestic distribution network. It works with more than 200 wholesalers and 10,000 retailers, reaching around 300 cities across 25 states and six Union Territories.

Inthing’s journey began in 1958, when B.K. Maheshwari and Ramesh Arora started a fabric trading business. Over the years, the company moved into textile manufacturing, garment production and fashion retail.

The next phase of growth is being led by Akshat Bhutra, the third generation of the family business and son of Manmohan Bhutra. His focus includes manufacturing consolidation, operational efficiency and business scalability.

According to Bhutra, the company’s global expansion is a natural step after decades of developing manufacturing, product and distribution capabilities. Inthing now aims to take these strengths to international markets while building a stronger foundation for long-term growth.
