The first road show was held in Narayanganj. The second event took place in Dhaka. Around 185 people attended both events.
The participants came from Bangladesh’s textile and apparel industry. They included business leaders, textile professionals and industry representatives. A four-member Chinese delegation also joined the road shows.
The main focus was textile machinery and technology. The events also covered Bangladesh-China business cooperation.
Road Show Held in Narayanganj
The first road show took place on September 1 at Narayanganj Club. Around 85 people attended the event.
The guests included BKMEA and NCCI representatives. Chinese delegates and other industry speakers also joined the programme. Shawkat Iqbal, Editor-in-Chief of Bangladesh Textile Journal, gave the welcome speech.
Ratan Kumar Saha, Director of BKMEA, also spoke at the event. He is also Managing Director of P.M. Knittex Pvt. Ltd. He shared views on Bangladesh’s knitwear and apparel industry.
Liu Ge, Director of the China Textile Machinery Association (CTMA), spoke about China’s textile machinery sector. Next, Liu Dan, Business Supervisor at CTMA, presented ITMA ASIA + CITME 2026.
She explained the main features of the exhibition. She also discussed its role in the Asian textile industry. The road show also focused on Bangladesh-China cooperation.
Md. Abu Jafar, Vice President of the Narayanganj Chamber of Commerce and Industry, spoke about industry cooperation. Zakaria Wahid, Director of NCCI, also shared his views.
The event ended with a Q&A session. A group photo followed the session.
The guests then joined a networking dinner.
Dhaka Road Show Attracts 100 Participants
The second road show was held on September 2 in Dhaka. The event took place at Magnolia Hall, Lakeshore Heights, Gulshan-1. Around 100 people attended the programme.
The speakers discussed Bangladesh’s textile industry. They also spoke about machinery, technology and business cooperation.
Mohd Khorshed Alam, Director of BTMA and President of BCCCI, spoke about the textile sector.
Liu Ge, Director of CTMA, again represented the Chinese textile machinery sector.
He spoke about new developments in China’s machinery industry.
Abdullah Al Mamun, Spokesperson of BTMA, spoke about Bangladesh’s technology needs.
Tang Rong, Director of BJITME, presented ITMA ASIA + CITME 2026.
He also explained the importance of the exhibition for Asian textile companies.
Mohammad Abdullah Zaber, Managing Director of Noman Group and Editor of Bangladesh Textile Journal, also attended the event.
The Dhaka programme ended with a Q&A session.
The event then moved to a group photo and networking session.
Focus on Textile Machinery and Technology
Technology was a major topic at both road shows. Bangladesh’s textile industry is looking for modern machinery.
Manufacturers also need better production systems. They want to improve productivity and product quality.
Energy efficiency is another key area. Automation is also gaining importance. Sustainability is an important focus for textile manufacturers.
ITMA ASIA + CITME 2026 will display many textile technologies.

ITMA ASIA + CITME 2026 in Shanghai
ITMA ASIA + CITME 2026 will take place from November 20 to 24, 2026. The event will be held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), China.
The exhibition will cover seven halls. It will cover around 180,000 square metres. This is a 10% increase from the previous edition. The show will focus on intelligent and sustainable manufacturing.
It will also have a research and innovation area. The area will feature work from Chinese universities and research groups.
Stronger Bangladesh-China Industry Links
The road shows also helped strengthen Bangladesh-China industry links. Chinese machinery experts met Bangladeshi textile professionals.
They discussed machinery and technology needs. They also discussed possible business cooperation. China is an important source of textile machinery for Bangladesh.
Therefore, direct talks between the two sides are important for the textile industry. The Narayanganj and Dhaka events have built interest ahead of the Shanghai exhibition. They also gave Bangladeshi companies a chance to learn about new machinery and technology.
The two road shows attracted around 185 participants in total.
