A new wave of new home décor launches is bringing fresh ideas to furniture, lighting, textiles, porcelain and surfaces. Recent collections from Difane, Ginori 1735, Sara Story, Apparatus, Kravet and Farrow & Ball combine traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design.

Difane introduces the Atara collection

Mexico City design gallery Difane has launched Atara, its first furniture collection under the gallery’s own name. Founded by Fernanda Salamanca and Andrea Gadsden, Difane developed the collection around the classic woven chair found across Latin America.

Atara includes four chairs and two cocktail tables. The range combines woven cords, upholstery and timber frames. Visible joinery and rounded edges give the pieces a handcrafted character.

Ginori 1735 presents Fortunae

Florentine porcelain house Ginori 1735 has introduced Fortunae, a giftware and home collection inspired by the Renaissance-era Game of the Goose.

The collection features trays, teapots, mugs, espresso sets, decorative boxes and porcelain miniatures. Lucky symbols include geese, dragonflies, horseshoes, dice and ladybugs.

Sara Story launches Hill Country rugs

Designer Sara Story has collaborated with Christopher Farr on Hill Country, a collection of three hand-knotted wool-and-silk rugs.

The designs are inspired by the Texas landscape. Spider, Landscape and Grid each come in four colourways. Spider references Louise Bourgeois’s well-known arachnid sculpture, while the other two designs use geometric forms inspired by aerial views of Texas terrain.

Apparatus returns with Act V: Afsaneh

Apparatus has launched Act V: Afsaneh, its first major collection in almost five years. Artistic director Gabriel Hendifar named the collection after his mother and the Persian word for “fable.”

The collection includes four series: Esfand: The Seed, Rahvi: The Serpent, Gol: The Flower and Jahaan: The World. The designs use materials such as brass, blown glass, bronze, aluminium, fiberglass and natural stones.

Apparatus is also presenting the collection through five short films created with the Martha Graham Dance Company.
