Polyester filament yarn producers across North and Central America have launched YarnProof™, powered by FibreTrace® technology. The initiative aims to strengthen origin verification and support supply chain transparency through physical evidence embedded in the material.
YarnProof uses an invisible, persistent tracer added to polyester filament yarn during extrusion. A FibreTrace handheld scanner can detect the tracer in yarn, fabric and finished products. This allows authorised participants to verify the material’s origin at different stages of the supply chain.
Regional Producers Join Origin Verification Initiative
The initiative brings together 10 polyester filament manufacturers from North and Central America. Participating companies include Aquafil O’Mara, CS America, CS Central America, Nan Ya Plastics Corporation America, Premiere Fibers, Skytex México, Tecnología Textil Avanzada, Textufil, Unifi Manufacturing and United Textiles of America.
Each scan creates a verification event that links the physical material to supporting production and sourcing records. The system works alongside existing documentation to help manufacturers substantiate origin claims and support brands’ sourcing requirements.
YarnProof Supports Supply Chain Compliance
According to FibreTrace founder and owner Danielle Statham, the collaboration establishes a shared framework for physical material verification among regional fibre producers.
The initiative also aims to support yarn-forward requirements under the Dominican Republic–Central America Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA-DR) and the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement (USMCA).
By enabling physical verification downstream, YarnProof gives brands another way to assess material origin and strengthen supply chain records. The technology connects physical materials with sourcing information throughout production and distribution.
