Alkove-Design’s masterpiece transcends location and embraces legacy; it’s a 2800 square foot house in Pune where identities come together and aspirations come true.
A haven of peace and cultural mix may be found in the center of Pune, where the city’s rhythm beats loud and lively. This masterwork of four bedrooms is proof of the strength of design that takes into account the diverse range of human experience. This 2800 square foot home was lovingly and expertly designed by Alkove-Design and is more than just a building. A couple whose journey crosses continents and cultures, it is a living representation of the identities and goals of its residents.
A Blend of Cultures
A brief from the family served as the inspiration for this area. They wanted a modern area that would represent their varied cultural background and act as a haven while they were in India. After moving to Australia after growing up in India, they longed for a house that combined aspects of their two new countries. Alkove-Design enthusiastically accepted the challenge, laying the groundwork for an unparalleled creative experience.
Designing Across Distances
Modern technology acted as a bridge, enabling smooth communication and collaboration between the design team and the clients despite their physical separation. Decisions were made easily and ideas were shared freely via video calls and WhatsApp messages. The house itself is a spacious haven inside Pune’s The Ark Voyage. The entry lobby is a riot of color as soon as you walk through the door. The house’s tone is established by the vivid scarlet walls, which radiate warmth and vitality.
As you enter the living room, you’re immediately struck by how serene the area is, especially with the indigo accent walls. You can’t help but feel calm as sunlight pours in through the windows, creating a golden glow. With its rustic stone tables and Aboriginal artwork, the dining area honors the family’s Australian heritage while showcasing the vibrant Indian culture. It’s a lovely contrast that draws attention to the couple’s varied backgrounds.
Areas That Promote Calm and Creativity
To accommodate Mrs. Pachare’s gastronomic experiments, the kitchen has been particularly created. Its sophisticated and stylish Calcutta Lux stone exterior provides an ideal setting for her inventive cooking. However, with its vivid color scheme and superb Rajasthani craftsmanship, the entertainment lounge is the real star. The walls are decorated with a recreation of a work of art by S.H. Raza, which gives the room a touch of emotion and serves as a reminder of the couple’s Indian heritage.
The study room, a place intended for both work and play, will be discovered as you continue your exploration. After a hard day, the cheerful atmosphere created by the soft oak furnishings and lime green accents is ideal for relaxing. A striking Raza painting that has been reimagined by the gifted team at Alkove-Design serves as the room’s main point and demonstrates their dedication to quality.
Bedrooms That Exude Calmness
The bedrooms, however, are arguably the calmest areas of the house. Away from the daily grind, the master bedroom’s elegant furniture and pastel turquoise walls provide a peaceful haven for rest and rejuvenation. With its cool mauve hues, the son’s room serves as a guest bedroom and provides guests with a comfortable haven.
This modern sanctuary not only functions as a physical building but also as a defender of identities, fusing the strands of history, culture, and ambition to create a genuinely one-of-a-kind setting. Every element has been carefully chosen to capture the rich tapestry of the family’s travels, from the calm pastels of the bedrooms to the vivid red of the entry lobby.
We are reminded that no matter where life leads us, there is always a place to call home as the sun sets over Pune, bathing this lovely house in a warm glow.
