Briston Tennessee— To give the gift of sleep this holiday season, Providence Enterprises, the company that owns and runs Ashley stores in the Mountain Empire region of Tennessee, Virginia, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Ohio, partnered with the Hope to Dream organization and the Bristol Motor Speedway chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities.
During the Dreams Delivered: the Gift of Giving donation event, 157 mattresses for parents and more than 200 beds for children were given away, making the holiday season happier and more peaceful for many.
It is a privilege for us to collaborate with Hope to Dream and the Speedway Children’s Charities to offer these beds to families who are in dire need. “This is the main focus of the season,” Bob Young, owner of Providence Enterprises, stated.
These gifts went to over 100 families, many of whom were impacted by Hurricane Helene and the subsequent flooding in East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. Children in the foster care system and others who have faced tremendous obstacles were also assisted by the private event. Parents received a king mattress from Tempur-Sealy International, and each child received a full twin bed set, which included a base, mattress, sheets, comforter, and pillow.
Families enjoyed an evening of Christmas celebrations, including dinner, professional Santa photographs, and craft projects, after the beds were distributed. Tickets to the famous Speedway in Lights, a five-mile display course with over three million lights and a lap around “The World’s Fastest Half-Mile,” were given to every guest. The purpose of Speedway Children’s Charities, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization devoted to providing for the immediate needs of children around the country, was highlighted during the event.
Through Providence Enterprises and their collaboration with nonprofit organizations such as Appalachia Service Project, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Family Crisis Support Services, Ballad Health Strong Starts, Isaiah 117 House, Boys & Girls Clubs, schools, churches, and more, Hope to Dream has donated more than 170,000 beds across the country since 2010. Of those, more than 1,000 beds have been given to local communities. Hope to Dream is celebrating its 14th anniversary this December. The Bristol Motor Speedway celebration honored the program’s lasting influence, the commitment of volunteers, the power of camaraderie within the community, and the enchantment of Christmas.
