Elegant bedding company Boll & Branch made a splash on the New York Fashion Week catwalk in a special partnership with designer Prabal Gurung.

In collaboration with Boll & Branch, the designer produced ready-to-wear pieces using the company’s “Summit Supima” 100% organic cotton sheeting fabric. Tennis player Maria Sharapova wore a dress made by Prabal using the same material for the 2024 Met Gala.

The collaboration draws attention to the shared South Asian ancestry of Gurung and Boll & Branch. One of Boll & Branch’s oldest collaborators in India weaves the brand’s Summit Supima, and family-run farms in the nation provide the majority of the brand’s 100% organic cotton.

Prabal still has a strong bond with his Nepali roots and frequently draws inspiration from them. The Hindu festival of Holi, which represents renewal and rebirth, served as the inspiration for this fashion week ensemble. In the show’s finale, models wearing Prabal’s all-white Boll & Branch designs were doused in colored powder, a custom associated with Holi celebrations worldwide.

“I particularly love to express myself through our vibrant finale,” Prabal added. “Our show is a platform for us to visually communicate who we are and the world we want to live in.” Who doesn’t adore a simple yet elegant white dress for the spring and summer?

Boll & Branch extended an invitation to one of its clients to go to the NYFW show with Tannen as part of the program. The client had the chance to talk with Tannen about the partnership as it developed, in addition to being the first Boll & Branch customer to be informed of the partnership and see the collection.

Boll & Branch’s creator and chief product officer, Missy Tannen, stated, “Everything we do is in service to our customer.” It’s a unique celebration of how far Boll & Branch has gone and how we can continue to support them in the most unexpected ways to watch our textiles on the runway and share this moment with our staff and consumers.
