Aurum PropTech Limited and REA Group have announced a strategic transaction under which Housing.com will join the Aurum PropTech ecosystem.
The transaction will bring together Housing.com, India’s real estate marketplace, and Aurum’s tech-enabled PropTech ecosystem into an integrated platform covering property discovery, transactions, financing, rentals and management across the real estate lifecycle.
Aurum PropTech has entered into a binding Share Acquisition Agreement to acquire 100% of Housing.com through an all-equity transaction. Under the agreement, Aurum will issue 1,97,93,309 equity shares, representing approximately 20.5% of its enlarged share capital.
Following the transaction, REA India’s total shareholding in Aurum PropTech will increase to 24.9%.
Housing.com brings an average monthly traffic of more than 58 million and over 12 million monthly active users to the combined ecosystem. Aurum said the integration will bring together Housing’s consumer marketplace with its technology-enabled transaction platform to create an end-to-end technology stack across the real estate lifecycle.
The transaction is also aimed at building an AI-native operating system for Indian real estate. A unified AI and data architecture will connect consumer demand, developer inventory, brokerage activity, rentals and transactions.
According to the companies, the platform is expected to support greater efficiency and improve customer experiences across discovery, matching, pricing and decision-making.
“We welcome REA as a significant shareholder in Aurum PropTech as we build the next chapter of Indian PropTech, powered by AI and data,” said Ashish Deora, Founder & CEO, Aurum Ventures.
He added that bringing Housing.com’s marketplace and Aurum’s transactions platform together would create synergies and support the next phase of value creation. He also highlighted the role of the combined data architecture in connecting intent, intelligence, transactions, financing and living services across the ecosystem.
Cameron McIntyre, REA Group CEO, said Aurum has the local market knowledge and capabilities to operate the India business and build on the foundations established by the team.
“To the REA India team, thank you for the significant contribution you have made. We are committed to supporting everyone through this process and look forward to future growth and partnership under Aurum’s leadership,” he said.
The transaction is expected to establish a broader technology ecosystem connecting real estate discovery, transactions and related services through AI and data-led infrastructure.
