Wilmington, Del. – An additional 22 Big Lots stores have been designated for transfer to Variety Wholesalers, as per a document filed on Feb. 28 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

These stores are in addition to the 200 Big Lots locations that were already set for transfer to Variety by Gordon Brothers earlier in February.

A provision in the filing states that any objections to the assumption and assignment of contracts must be filed with the court by March 14 at 4 p.m., with a hearing to follow if necessary.

The newly designated locations include:

  • West Virginia: Fairmont, Charleston
  • Tennessee: Alcoa, Kingsport, Cookeville, Chattanooga
  • Mississippi: Southaven
  • Pennsylvania: Washington, Erie
  • North Carolina: Fayetteville, Dunn, Gastonia, Kinston, Wilmington
  • Alabama: Guntersville, Dothan
  • South Carolina: Lexington
  • Kentucky: Glasgow, Bowling Green
  • Georgia: Augusta
  • Ohio: Columbus

Additionally, another filing on Feb. 27 indicates that Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, Inc. is set to acquire 40 Big Lots leases that were not selected for transfer to Variety.

Gordon Brothers acquired Big Lots’ assets—including stores, distribution centers, and intellectual property—on Jan. 9, following the retailer’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing on Sept. 9, 2024.

Stay tuned for further updates on the Big Lots restructuring process.
