Bombay Dyeing has prevented a counterfeit sales event in Hyderabad, reinforcing its efforts to protect consumers from fake products being sold under the company’s brand name.
The incident involved the promotion of an unauthorised sale within a residential housing society through flyers advertising Bombay Dyeing bedsheets at heavily discounted prices, including “Buy 1 Get 2 Free” offers. After becoming aware of the activity, Bombay Dyeing coordinated with the concerned housing society, leading to the cancellation of the planned sale.
The company said it has observed a growing number of counterfeit products being marketed through temporary exhibitions and residential society sales, where consumers are often misled into believing they are purchasing genuine Bombay Dyeing merchandise.
According to the company, these counterfeit products do not meet the quality, craftsmanship and manufacturing standards associated with the Bombay Dyeing brand.
Company representatives stated that Bombay Dyeing remains committed to taking prompt action against counterfeit products and unauthorised sales while encouraging consumers to purchase only through authorised retail stores, trusted online marketplaces and official sales channels.
How to identify genuine Bombay Dyeing products
Bombay Dyeing has advised customers to verify product authenticity by checking for:
- An official QR-coded hologram sticker that enables authenticity verification.
- The official Bombay Dyeing name and blue logo on both the product and its packaging.
- Designs that match the company’s authorised catalogue and product range.
- Premium-quality fabric, finish and workmanship.
- Authentic branded packaging.
- Purchases made only through authorised Bombay Dyeing stores, verified retail partners, official online channels and recognised e-commerce platforms.
Consumers can also locate authorised stores through Bombay Dyeing’s official Store Locator and purchase products from verified online marketplaces including Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra and Nykaa, as well as quick-commerce platforms such as Zepto, Blinkit and Swiggy.
Bombay Dyeing said it continues to strengthen its anti-counterfeiting initiatives by actively monitoring unauthorised sales and working with local authorities, residential communities, retail partners and other stakeholders to curb the circulation of fake products.
With a legacy spanning more than 145 years, the company reaffirmed its commitment to protecting consumers by ensuring they receive genuine products that reflect the quality, authenticity and craftsmanship associated with the Bombay Dyeing brand.
