Burlington Stores Inc. has achieved a major milestone, with home category sales exceeding $2.1 billion for the first time. Over the past five years, the off-price retailer has added more than $1.2 billion in total home sales, reflecting the growing significance of this category in its overall business.
According to the company’s 10K annual report filed with the SEC, home sales increased by 9.2% in the fiscal year ending Feb. 1, following a 6.6% growth the previous year. Burlington first surpassed $1 billion in home sales in 2020, and since then, home’s contribution to total sales has remained strong at 20% to 21%, up from 15% before 2020.
Steady Growth Fueled by Expansion and Strong Sales
Burlington’s impressive home category growth has been supported by:
- Expansion of store locations, with 347 net new stores added since 2020
- Increased customer traffic and conversions throughout the year
- Higher Average Unit Retail (AUR) pricing, especially in Q4
- Comp growth in Q2 and consistent traffic gains
While new store openings played a key role in overall sales growth, Burlington also benefited from strong in-store performance and higher consumer demand for home products.
As Burlington continues to expand, home remains a critical driver of growth, solidifying its place as a key player in the off-price retail market.
