San Francisco: The proprietors of The George, a 31-room boutique hotel in Montclair, New Jersey, have partnered with Williams Sonoma Home to start a new project.
Renowned makeup artist Bobbi Brown and her husband, Steven Plofker, own the hotel. From curtains, pillows, bedding, and carpets to frames, leather boxes, barware, board games, and desk accessories, the new collection offers home furnishings and decorative touches. The collection’s artifacts may be found all over the hotel, especially in the famous paneled library.
“My husband Steven and I have really enjoyed working with Williams Sonoma Home to develop this capsule collection for our cherished hotel,” Brown said. “The Williams Sonoma Home team quickly grasped our vision, and we collaborated to produce a line of limited-edition products of which I’m extremely proud.”
Brown and her husband, a developer and builder, are working on their first hospitality project, The George. While Brown served as creative director, redesigning and decorating the hotel, Plofker managed the space’s physical refurbishment.
The George, which was first constructed in 1902 as a private residence, is the couple’s first artistic endeavor. According to Brown, the design goal was to include the couple’s contemporary styling and stylish aesthetic while updating the property’s historic bones.

According to Carbullido, The George, which is situated just outside of New York City, exemplifies the couple’s appreciation of architecture, excellent design, and striking stripes and contrasting colors.
