Calderia broadens the map of sources.

Caldeira is expanding its sourcing for decorative accessory goods into new markets in an effort to provide its retail partners with options during these difficult times.

During New York Home Fashions Market week, the company—which was founded in the United Kingdom in 1991 and created its U.S. subsidiary in 2006—will be exhibiting new and extended fashion trends from Belgium, Spain, Turkey, and the U.S.

Given the impending [US presidential] election and the numerous rising geopolitical unknowns, we recognize how critical it is that our retail partners feel prepared. Tony Caldeira, president, told HTT, “That’s why we’ve expanded our sourcing to other countries and increased our headcount in the U.K. where we are producing high quality products that bring the value the consumer here wants.”

After establishing its Asian division in Hangzhou for the previous 21 years, Caldeira is still operating in China. Caldeira China lost some of its business impetus during the pandemic, but it has since recovered greatly. Caldeira said, “We have excellent products and business acumen in China.”

However, the corporation is mobilizing to counteract any potential negative effects and is aware of the prospect of changes in U.S. policy regarding tariffs on Chinese imports.

In order to provide our merchant partners options and prevent them from having to place all of their eggs in the Chinese basket, we are looking to Belgium, Spain, and Turkey for new products.

Caldeira’s new designs for this season at Market, including Turkish jacquards, Spanish tapestries, Belgian velvets, sustainably produced styles, and more, are a “perfect example of what we are doing,” he stated.

Vice President of Sales Rachel Griffiths stated, “Retailers are looking to elevate their assortments with products that feature elevated styles because shoppers are willing to trade up and pay more when the perceived value is there.” “We’re satisfying that demand by improving our styles and incorporating glam-inspired elements like fur and fringe, textured materials, velours, bouclés, and sustainably made goods, like those we produce in Oeko-Tex-certified mills in Belgium.”

“We make sure we have something for everyone because we supply to retailers at all levels,” Caldeira continued.

Caldeira has relocated into suite 202 at 230 Fifth Avenue, an open-plan facility measuring one thousand square feet.
