The Chhattisgarh government has joined forces with the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) as a Partner State in a major effort to boost the country’s apparel and textile industry. The goal of this partnership is to use the state’s strong textile policy to promote employment, investment, and growth in the Indian garment sector.

The Government of Chhattisgarh conducted a roadshow in Mumbai that was attended by a CMAI team headed by President Santosh Katariya, Mr. Rahul Mehta, Chief Mentor, Mr. Aanurag Dhoot, Senior Director, and Mr. Naveen Sainani, Hon. General Secretary & Chairman of the FAB Show. The delegation met behind closed doors with senior policymakers and the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, after the roadshow.

The idea to designate the state as a Partner State and link it to CMAI activities was finalized during the discussions. In keeping with its forward-thinking Textile Policy, this collaboration demonstrates the state’s dedication to creating a flourishing textile and apparel manufacturing ecosystem.

Regarding the subsequent collaboration, President Santosh Katariya stated that the Indian apparel industry may look to Chhattisgarh with optimism for future growth, acknowledging the State’s enormous potential. In the State’s massive Textile Park, CMAI and its members may be extremely helpful in creating job possibilities, particularly for women workers.

It is anticipated that the partnership between CMAI and the Chhattisgarh government will strengthen the Make in India campaign, open up new business prospects, and establish the state as a major hub for the Indian apparel and textile industry.

On Thursday, January 23, the Chhattisgarh State Government hosted an Investor Connect Meet in Mumbai to highlight the State’s potential as a center of industry and the economy. Prominent business associations participated in the roadshow, which resulted in substantial investment commitments worth +Rs 6000 crores for Chhattisgarh.
