Circ & Selenis Partner to Scale Textile Recycling in Europe

Circ®, a U.S.-based textile-to-textile recycler, has announced a strategic partnership with Selenis, a Portugal-based polyester manufacturer, to scale the production of Circ® Polyester across Europe. As part of the agreement, Selenis will toll and polymerize thousands of metric tons of Circ® Polyester at an industrial level, utilizing its advanced infrastructure and technical expertise. This move marks a significant step in Circ’s dual-product strategy to industrialize both recycled polyester and lyocell production.

This partnership is timely, following Circ’s recent announcement of its first commercial-scale polycotton recycling facility in Saint-Avold, France. Through the collaboration, Circ aims to offer high-performance circular materials derived from end-of-life textiles, serving global brands across activewear, fashion, and basics.

Selenis brings decades of experience in producing high-performance polyesters and is committed to enabling circularity in textiles. Their joint mission is to push forward the recycling of garments into garments, rather than allowing materials to be downcycled or wasted. Leaders from both companies emphasize the necessity of innovation, infrastructure, and supportive regulation to make true circular systems viable at scale.

The partnership also symbolizes a long-term strategic effort by Selenis to expand beyond plastics and lead in textile circularity, with active engagements in both the U.S. and European markets.
