Clean Recycling Initiative™ Unveils 2024 ISMC Winners

Montreal, December, 2024—  The third annual International Sustainability Marketing Competition (ISMC) winners have been proudly revealed by Clean Recycling InitiativeTM (Non-profit). In collaboration with HEAT-MXTM, this international competition once again pushed students to develop creative marketing campaigns that raise awareness of the serious environmental problems caused by textile waste and emphasize the environmentally friendly options offered by the Clean Recycling InitiativeTM technology platform.

Nearly 1,500 students from 702 post-secondary schools in 120 countries participated in the 2024 competition, highlighting the extraordinary interest in sustainability and environmental consciousness around the world.

“With sincere appreciation, we are delighted to present the International Sustainability Marketing Competition (ISMC) 2024 winners! The contributions this year demonstrated remarkable originality, devotion, and steadfastness in combating false information about environmental sustainability. Every participant put in excellent effort, therefore choosing winners was really difficult,” remarked Sae Chang, President & CEO of Clean Recycling InitiativeTM.

 

1st Place Co-Winners:
  • The Indonesia team, consisting of members Rio Anggara, Irfan Septia Dwisantana, Muhammad Adnan Bayu Firdaus, Rayyan Septia Ardiana, and Lonely Sinuhaji, represented multiple universities, including Universitas Padjadjaran, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Airlangga, and Bandung Institute of Technology.
  • The St. Clair College team from Windsor, Canada, includes members Jordyn Rady, Kayla Kwiatkowski, Elliot Smith, Nathan Mitchel Triolet, and Elizabeth Marion.

3rd Place Co-Winners:
  • The Universidad Panamericana team from Mexico consists of members Mónica Fernanda Díaz Amador, Karla Daniela Fernández Oliva, Evangelina Itzamná Mendoza Cervantes, and Víctor Hugo Pozos Aguilar.
  • Another Universidad Panamericana team from Mexico includes members Wendy Jazmin León Ponce, Alicia Guadalupe Carranza Salazar, Fatima López Sandoval, Karla Aguilar Mckercher, and Nathalia Fernández García.

Marketing Choice Award

The University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City team from Vietnam includes Yen Dang Chau Hoang and Hung Nguyen.

Public Choice Award
Hanein Khaled Mohieldein from Mansoura University of Engineering, Egypt.

Africa Award

Kwadwo Amponsah Larbi from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana.

“This competition was about starting a path of group learning and cooperation, not just about winning prizes. It has been instructive and motivating to investigate ways to counteract false information about sustainability with students around the globe. We want to express our sincere gratitude to each and every participant for their enthusiasm and hard work. Your input reaffirms how accurate science can lead to significant improvement in sustainability practices,” Sae Chang continued.

About CLEAN RECYCLING INITIATIVE™

The non-profit organization, CLEAN RECYCLING INITIATIVE™ was established based on the donations of the technology platform with the same name, i.e., CLEAN RECYCLING INITIATIVE™, from a Montreal, Canada based company, HEAT-MX™, which specializes in thermal insulation business. The organization engages in providing solutions for recycling textile wastes without using chemicals nor any other harmful processes for the environment. The solutions are designed for collecting and processing textile wastes from the general public as well as organizations in global textile industries in a wide range of operational categories, including manufacturing, transportation, distribution, retail, wholesale, etc. The technology platform consists of three different levels, defined based on the sources of textile wastes and how to collect and process them. LEVEL 1 is for household wastes with labeling requirements fulfilled by the general public. LEVEL 2 is for manufacturing wastes from textile mills and LEVEL 3 is for specific types of intermediary raw material manufacturing. Its aim is to promote and further develop the technologies for providing sustainable recycling solutions for textile waste in all four corners of the world.
