This October, Eliko Rugs by David Ariel will debut its inaugural licensed collection, created in collaboration with media celebrity and interior designer Anne-Marie Barton.

The collection, which is handwoven in India, includes over 27 opulent area rugs in a range of sizes, with plush, high- and low-pile renditions of fine wool, mohair, and cashmere.

“We are delighted to work with Anne-Marie Barton on our debut designer line,” stated David Basalely, one of the co-founders of the rug resource for the trade. Her viewpoint as a working interior designer, along with her enthusiasm and creative energy, have been invaluable to the product development process. Her carpets are rooted in an enduring quest for both practicality and natural beauty.

Each hallmark look reflects this organic, natural approach and carries Barton’s long-standing love of layering soft floor coverings throughout her upscale residential interior design projects.

“In a soulful way, I wanted the collection to be layered with the grit and patina of vintage rugs,” Barton stated. The viewer should get an emotional reaction to it.

“I imagined the colors, textures, and hands that would make my rugs before traveling to India, but seeing the artisans at work in their homes and natural settings there exceeded all of my expectations,” the woman continued.

On October 27, at 6 p.m., there will be a celebratory launch party and special presentation at the Eliko Rugs by David Ariel showroom located at 108 S. Lindsay St. at the High Point Market.
