eVent Fabrics, a global provider of waterproof and breathable fabric technologies, has announced a strategic partnership with PELLIOT, one of China’s fastest-growing outdoor performance brands, to introduce its PFAS-free alpineST and windstormST laminate technologies to China’s rapidly expanding outdoor apparel market.
The collaboration aims to accelerate the adoption of lower-impact performance materials as the global outdoor industry increasingly transitions away from per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), which have become a major environmental concern in functional textiles.
Partnership Supports PFAS-Free Outdoor Performance
PELLIOT, known for its outdoor apparel designed for mountaineering, hiking, skiing and travel, will incorporate eVent’s next-generation membrane technologies into its upcoming product collections, strengthening its focus on responsible product development while maintaining high-performance standards.
According to eVent Fabrics, the partnership represents an important step in expanding PFAS-free textile solutions within China’s growing outdoor sports market.
Chad Kelly, Vice President of eVent Fabrics, said the collaboration demonstrates the industry’s shift toward lower-impact materials.
“This partnership with PELLIOT represents a big step forward in the global reduction of PFAS in consumer apparel. As one of the fastest-growing outdoor apparel brands in China, PELLIOT is a volume leader, which means this partnership could have a real effect on attitudes towards PFAS in China’s explosive, multi-billion-dollar outdoor sports market.”
Focus on Material Innovation
PELLIOT said the partnership aligns with its long-term strategy of advancing sustainable innovation while delivering technical outdoor apparel.
Zhao Le, Vice President of PELLIOT, stated:
“At PELLIOT, we are committed not only to creating high-performance outdoor apparel but also to advancing material innovation and responsible product development. Driving the transition toward PFAS-free and low-carbon textiles is both an industry trend and a responsibility. We look forward to partnering with eVent to help move the industry beyond traditional PFAS-based fabrics while continuing to deliver the performance consumers expect.”
PFAS-Free Technologies for Future Collections
The partnership will feature two of eVent Fabrics’ latest laminate technologies:
alpineST
The PFAS-free alpineST membrane combines performance face fabrics and backers with a C0 durable water repellent (DWR) finish. Designed for demanding outdoor activities, the laminate provides waterproof and breathable protection while reducing environmental impact.
The technology will be featured in the PELLIOT SS27 alpineST Hard Shell Jacket.
windstormST
The windstormST laminate uses eVent’s plant-based membrane together with recycled and lower-impact face and backer fabrics. Finished with a C0 DWR, the softshell laminate blocks wind while repelling light rain and snow, making it suitable for a wide range of outdoor conditions.
The material will debut in the PELLIOT FW26 windstormST Soft Shell Jacket.
Expanding Sustainable Outdoor Solutions
The partnership reflects the outdoor industry’s growing focus on reducing the use of PFAS while developing performance fabrics that meet evolving environmental expectations. By combining waterproof protection, breathability and lower-impact materials, eVent Fabrics and PELLIOT aim to support the next generation of sustainable outdoor apparel.
