The collaboration between Filo and C.L.A.S.S., the international eco-hub founded by Giusy Bettoni, is renewed once again, reinforcing their commitment to creativity and responsible innovation.
At the 63rd edition of Filo, the initiative “Sustainability from A to Z”—a service developed in partnership with C.L.A.S.S. to support companies navigating the complexities of sustainability—focuses on responsible innovation. The program expands knowledge through technical insights, case studies, and direct industry testimonials. The ultimate goal, shared by both Filo and C.L.A.S.S., is to guide the industry and market in making informed and conscious choices aligned with evolving sustainability standards.
Showcasing Responsible Innovation at Filo 63
At Filo 63, the C.L.A.S.S. exhibition space will showcase projects and solutions developed by organizations and companies selected for their commitment to sustainability. This edition will highlight advancements in green chemistry and the role of “advanced” natural fibres, particularly cotton and linen. Many companies working with these fibres have implemented comprehensive innovation strategies, making traceability an essential requirement in production.
Supima®: Premium Cotton with Certified Traceability
In the C.L.A.S.S. space at Filo 63, Supima® represents high-quality cotton grown in the United States, accounting for less than 1% of global cotton production. Its unique extra-long staple fibres provide superior strength, softness, and long-lasting colour retention.
To ensure authenticity and traceability, Supima® has introduced the AQRe™ Project (Authenticity Quality Responsibility). This blockchain-based digital platform, developed in collaboration with TextileGenesis™, enables real-time monitoring of the entire supply chain. Additionally, Supima® works with Oritain™ to conduct forensic testing, verifying the cotton’s origin at every stage of production. These advanced technologies guarantee that all products carrying the Supima® label meet the growing market demand for transparency and sustainability.
Linen Innovation: The Alliance for European Flax-Linen & Hemp
The Alliance for European Flax-Linen & Hemp, the European agro-industrial organization representing the entire European flax and hemp supply chain, will also be featured. 2025 marks a key milestone in accelerating the sustainable transformation of flax-linen, from the field to the finished product.
Key innovations include:
- Evolution of Flax-Linen Certifications
- Launch of the Digital Flax-Linen Traceability Platform (developed with TextileGenesis – Lectra) in May 2025, enabling blockchain-based tracking at every production stage
- Publication of environmental footprint datasets and a specialized B2B tool for impact assessment
- Scientific validation of Flax-Linen functional properties
- New sourcing platform for Flax-Linen & Hemp, supporting innovative materials and textile solutions
REVECOL®: Pioneering Green Chemistry in Textiles
A highlight of the C.L.A.S.S. space will be REVECOL® by ERCA Textile Chemical Solutions, a groundbreaking 100% Made in Italy innovation in green chemistry. REVECOL® transforms exhausted vegetable cooking oil into a new generation of safe, certified, high-performance, and eco-friendly textile chemical auxiliaries.
This circular economy solution reduces CO₂ emissions by up to 72% compared to conventional textile chemistry. The REVECOL® range includes 18 certified auxiliaries meeting GRS, RCS, ZDHC, bluesign®, and GOTS standards, ensuring high performance with a reduced environmental impact. As a certified end-to-end solution, REVECOL® drives sustainability, circularity, and performance in textile production.
Dialoghi di Confronto: In-Depth Industry Discussions
Throughout Filo 63, the C.L.A.S.S. team will engage with companies and professionals interested in exploring the latest advancements in sustainability, traceability, and textile innovation. In addition, two key discussions will take place within the Dialoghi di Confronto series:
- February 26, 3:30 PM: Giusy Bettoni, CEO of C.L.A.S.S., interviews Roberto Ghioldi, Sales Director of ERCA TCS, on how REVECOL® is transforming textile chemistry.
- February 26, 4:00 PM: A panel discussion on “Advanced Natural Fibres”, exploring how traceability and innovation enhance raw materials, featuring industry experts and a TextileGenesis™ representative.
