The 66th edition of Filo opens today at Fiera Milano Rho in Milan, Italy. The International Yarns and Fibres Exhibition will run on September 15 and 16.
Filo66 brings together yarns, fibres, materials, dyes and finishing solutions. The exhibition focuses on high-quality products for textile and fashion markets.
Filo66 Showcases New Textile Collections
Filo66 is taking place in Hall 24 at Fiera Milano Rho. Visitors can enter through Porta Ovest, or West Gate. A shuttle service is also available from Porta Est.
The exhibition is held on the same dates as Lineapelle. This creates a link between the textile, leather and fashion industries.
The Trends Area is located near the entrance. The Quick Delivery Area is also placed there. Visitors can therefore get a quick view of the products on display.
The Research and Innovation Area presents the “Made in Filo” fabric collection. Filo develops this collection with materials supplied by exhibitors.
The project also highlights yarns and production processes. For Filo66, the collection follows the “Botanica” theme.
The theme has three strands: “Spontaneous,” “Expanded” and “Hybridised.”
Filo66 Opening Ceremony
The Filo66 Opening Ceremony is scheduled for September 15 at 10:30 a.m. The theme is “Weaving the future: balance for a stronger, more competitive textile and fashion supply chain.”
The ceremony focuses on the future of the textile and fashion supply chain. It also looks at innovation, responsibility and industry cooperation.
International Buyers Attend Filo66
Filo is also strengthening its international buyer programme. The event is hosting buyers with support from ITA – Italian Trade & Investments Agency.
The delegation includes buyers from France, Spain, Portugal and the Netherlands. Buyers from the United Kingdom, Turkey and India are also attending.
Filo is working with the Piedmont Region and Ceipiemonte to support international business. The partnership is part of the Region’s “Textile” Integrated Supply Chain Project.
The event will also host Buyers’ Days on September 16 and 17. The programme will connect Piedmont textile companies with international buyers.
More than 20 pre-arranged B2B meetings are planned. The meetings will also continue in the Biella area.
The programme will give international visitors a closer look at the Biella textile district. It will also help them meet local textile companies.
Filo Focuses on Quality and Innovation
Paolo Monfermoso, responsible for Filo, said the organisers are working to create more opportunities for exhibitors.
He also thanked ITA, the Piedmont Region and Ceipiemonte for their support. Monfermoso said the partnership with Lineapelle gives visitors a wider view of textile and fashion production.
He also noted the challenges facing the sector. International political conditions remain complex. As a result, companies are focusing more on quality and innovation.
According to Monfermoso, Filo66 exhibitors are responding to these market challenges with new product ideas and strong technical solutions.
Filo66 will continue at Fiera Milano Rho through September 16.
