Floral wallpaper is leading home decor preferences, according to a Thumbtack survey. Botanical prints, layered patterns and stripes are among the designs homeowners are considering for their interiors.
Wallpaper is making a comeback as homeowners look for ways to add colour and personality to their living spaces. Floral and botanical patterns are emerging as the most popular choice, according to survey findings reported by Good Housekeeping.
The Thumbtack survey found that 61% of homeowners would consider adding at least one pattern to their homes within the next year. Floral and botanical designs ranked first, with 34% of respondents choosing them. Mixed or layered patterns followed at 24%, while stripes, checks and plaids received 22%.
Floral Wallpaper Leads Home Decor Trends
Floral wallpaper offers flexibility across different interior styles. Large, colourful prints can create a bold feature wall, while smaller botanical designs introduce subtle texture. These patterns also bring nature-inspired elements into bedrooms, kitchens and home offices.
Interior designer Neha Gupta, founder of NU Curations, notes that floral designs can work in different spaces depending on their scale and colour palette.
Ways to Style Floral Wallpaper
Floral wallpaper can create a striking feature in a powder room. Pairing bold prints with a decorative mirror, warm metallic accessories and thoughtful lighting can help create a cohesive look.
Bedrooms offer another way to incorporate botanical designs. Placing floral wallpaper behind the bed creates a focal point without covering every wall. Textured bedding, complementary furniture and warm lighting can complete the scheme.
As homeowners explore more expressive interiors, floral wallpaper offers a practical way to introduce pattern and character. From delicate vines to oversized blooms, the right design can complement both traditional and contemporary spaces.
